Paris Police Shoot, Wound Hammer-Wielding Assailant Outside Notre Dame

France's interior minister says a man yelled "this is for Syria" as he attacked officers with a hammer; the incident is being investigated as a terrorist attack. One officer suffered minor injuries.

A man in Paris attacked police officers with a hammer on Tuesday near Notre Dame Cathedral, and he was shot and wounded by police.

One officer, while the assailant has been hospitalized.
