On the same night Astros outfielder George Springer accepted the World Series Most Valuable Player award Wednesday, White Sox prospect Eloy Jimenez was a world away trying to follow the same arduous path.
Jimenez doubled in a run for Gigantes del Cibao in the Dominican Winter League, improving his eye-popping slash line to .367/.396/.694. Everywhere Jimenez goes, the ball flies and jaws drop. Every conversation about a bright Sox future revolves around the 6-foot-4, 205-pound specimen, who vowed last week to either start or end the 2018 season in Chicago.
