Trendy twist

Sashi Vangapalli

The new age bride in 29 year old Sashi Vangapalli's lookbook is all about drawing from the endless possibilities of modernity, while being deeply connected to one's roots. Customary reds have been replaced by beautifully embellished whites and demure pinks, contrasted with bold cuts to create subtle drama. Known for her richly detailed and intricately embroidered ensembles, this season Vangapalli offers brides flared lehengas teamed with shoulder baring crop tops or longsleeved peasant style blouses. Pretty pastels and intense blues are her colours, "for a carefully curated trousseau featuring diverse looks for the various festivities of a wedding," she says. The same intricacy of detailing and richness of colours are used in sherwanis and bandgalas for grooms. At Mugdha Art Studio; Tel 9010906544; Details facebook.com/mugdhaartstudio
