Seizing the day like no generation before them, India's millennials mix technological savvy with confidence, and egalitarian passion. Meet 42 young people who know what they want and made it happen.

This summer I received a WhatsApp message from a friend about how 24 year old Mallika Arya from Gurugram had crowdfunded her trip to Antarctica to pursue her interest in climate change. My first reaction was, "Wow! Wish I had done that." It got me thinking about the go getting, can do spirit of the millennials as compared to my generation and others before Mallika's time.

I belong to what the West calls as the Baby Boomer generation those born at the end of World War II and up to 1964. In India, my generation grew up experiencing scarcity and the heavy hand of government, with banks being nationalised and Emergency being imposed.
