Someone suggested I should reset my Network settings in iCloud, to cure problems downloading music. I knew this would wipe my iCloud Keychain, but assumed I could restore that using a Time Machine backup. After the reset, I couldn’t find my keychain backup. How can I back up my iCloud Keychain, and can I recover my old keychain contents?

Reset Network Settings should only reset that iOS device, so shouldn’t have affected your iCloud Keychain at all. If whatever you did has cleared your iCloud Keychain, then your first step is to call Apple Support for help – they’re the only people who might be able to recover it.

If one device has a problem with iCloud Keychain, a good approach is to turn off that feature on all your devices, then turn it back on, first on the device with the most up-to-date keychain. That should sync with your iCloud Keychain; when that’s
