White House, Following Backlash, Rules Out Russian Interrogation of Americans

Politicians had argued almost with one voice that the White House reject any notion about granting Russian investigators access to Americans facing accusations by Vladimir Putin.

The White House closed the door Thursday to making a former American diplomat or others available to Russian interrogators, marking the latest in a series of reversals since President Trump's summit on Monday with his Russian counterpart in Helsinki.
