U.S. Army Stops Discharging Immigrant Recruits Seeking Citizenship

In recent weeks, dozens of military recruits had their enlistment contracts canceled. They had joined the military as part of a program to recruit foreign nationals with critically needed skills.

The U.S. Army has halted the process of discharging immigrants who enlisted under a program designed to recruit people with critically needed skills.

Reports emerged in July that the Pentagon had canceled the enlistment contracts of dozens of these recruits.
