Super Typhoon Yutu Takes Horrible Toll On Northern Mariana Islands, Heads Toward Asia

Tinian Mayor Joey San Nicolas said the island in the Marianas "has been devastated." He added, "Many homes have been destroyed."
Super Typhoon Yutu is on a west-northwest course toward the Philippines. When it nears that country over the weekend, its name will also be changed to Rosita.

Super Typhoon Yutu is on its way to Southeast Asia, after devastating part of the commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. "Many homes have been destroyed," says the mayor of Tinian, an island in the U.S. Pacific territory.

Yutu brought sustained winds of at least 165 to 175 mph
