♦ Eight fat quarters or 16 rectangles, 6in x 21in of white or light grey tone-on-tone print fabrics (background). See Note

♦ Fat eighth royal blue print fabric (appliqué)

♦ Scraps of tone-on-tone print fabrics in purple, pink, orange, yellow and green (appliqué)

♦ 1.4m (1½yd) backing fabric

♦ Batting at least 86cm x 65cm (34in x 25in)

♦ 80cm (⅞yd) fusible woven stabiliser

♦ Fusible web

♦ Stranded embroidery floss in black, white, orange, yellow and pink

♦ Machine-embroidery threads to match the appliqué fabrics

♦ Fine mechanical pencil

♦ Fine permanent-marking pen

♦ Template plastic and permanent-marking pen — see Cool Tools

♦ Rotary cutter, ruler and mat

♦ Sewing machine with ¼in, free-motion and embroidery feet
