It is certainly difficult to avoid buying plastic goods altogether. However, if everyone reduced their plastic use just a bit it would make a massive difference; it would send a strong message to manufacturers to use alternative materials or improve biodegradability of their current products. It is estimated we each own 39 redundant plastic pots so potentially many millions in sheds and garages up and down the country. Personally for keen gardeners I think that is a low figure.
