Remembering Richard

I loved the article on Richard Wyler in the September 2018 issue. Circa 1963 Richard paid a visit to Motor Cycle News (MCN), in Kettering’s Evening Telegraph offices. After, he walked across the road to Halfords where my friend Neil Redley (who now regularly displays his collection of Velcocettes on the classic show scene), worked at the time.

“What does one do in a dead town like this?” he asked.

Neil told him…

“We of Kettering & District Motor Cycle Club meet just round the corner at The Talbot Hotel if you’re interested?”

“What time?”

“8 o’clock.”

“I’ll be there.”

Neil told me beforehand and we got there early. He told the members about his meeting and all the girls, after picking themselves up off the floor,
