When I started testing motorbikes for , Peter Watson (editor at that time) initially came along to supervise the action photography during which – as you may well have noticed – the photographer often stands on the outside of a bend as the tester whizzes past. These cornering shots have several virtues; they show that the bike can actually be ridden in realistic conditions, they are generally more interesting than simple broadside pictures, and they show off the machine rather than its rider.
