CANSON PAPERS HAVE A HISTORY OF SATISFYING THE NEEDS OF ARTISTS
For over 450 years, artists such as Delacroix, Van Gogh, Degas, Matisse, Picasso, Maillol and Warhol have expressed themselves on Canson Papers.
Degas preferred tracing paper for his pastels; Matisse had a fondness for C’ à Grain paper and many of Picasso’s pen and ink drawing and sketches have been reproduced on C’ à Grain paper. Indeed, Montval paper was created as a result of a request by Maillol.
Today, the Canson tradition of quality and innovative papers continues with a broad range to cover the needs of every applicable artisan – from painters, to sketchers through to pastellists and fashion designers.
Pastel paper – Mi-Teintes TEX and Mi-Teintes
Mi-Teintes TEX is the latest innovation in Canson’s broad stable of products, and it continues the Mi-Teintes story that started in 1809 when Canson first developed coloured paper.
Developed specifically for pastel artists, this paper features a superfine grit that holds colours superbly and allows the artist to build up more colour on the first layer than conventional pastel papers.
The unique textured surface also enables easier blending, excellent fine line detail and fewer comet tail effects to give the pastellist one of the most versatile surfaces they will ever experience.
Mi-Teintes TEX will also stand the test of time as the all surface texture colours come with an ASTM rating of three or more stars.
