CONTROL YOUR SMART HOME

Like the News app, Apple’s smart home manager has also landed on the Mac in Mojave. Frankly, we’ve found Home a bit confusing as an early example of Apple’s initiative to make cross–platform apps easier to develop. Its interface is rooted in iOS design, but lacks interactions we expected, such as Force Click. Here are our key pointers.

EDIT YOUR HOME

To edit your home settings or manage your HomePods, choose Edit > Edit Home.

ADD A ROOM

Ctrl–click an accessory’s tile, pick Settings, click the Room row, then click Create
