IF YOU’RE INTO the restoration of any bike and at any level then the reality is that New Old Stock (NOS) is swiftly drying up. Yes can still buy brand-new rear wheel spindles for a BSA A65L or lower fork yokes for a Suzuki Stinger, but much beyond that and it’s all getting very much harder. Simply put, there’s a finite amount of decent unused parts and most ofa fair way towards explaining why you see so many derrieres pointing to the sky at the likes of the Kempton Park, Newark, Netley Marsh and Stafford autojumbles. Lots of bemused folk looking for that one vital part they need to finish a gearbox, rolling chassis, intake system or what-have-you. Without question such events can prove a godsend but there’s also another option.
