Coming of age in California

I’d been working in a Yamaha shop in Bloomington, Indiana. I yearned for warmer climes and year-round riding – so I could make a year-round living. I was not yet 25 years old.

I had a Ford Falcon sedan and my girlfriend a Triumph Spitfire sports car. We removed the back seat of the Falcon and inserted my 175 Ossa street model where the seat had been. We hooked the Spitfire on behind the Falcon and headed west like the Joads... for California.

I found a job
