The TUAR Club motorcycle section, based at Thouars in Western France, is typical of many such clubs in a nation where the flame of passion for vintage motorcycles – particularly French marques that now are part of history – burns undiminished.
Thus on a glorious late summer morning, in the Place Lavault in central Thouars, nearly 50 motorcycles, representing most decades of the 20th century, gathered before departing on the 33rd annual ballade through the countryside of Maine-et-Loire and Deux Sévres.
