During the First World War, Triumph was the biggest supplier of motorcycles to the war effort, with its Model H doing much to secure and cement the firm's reputation for not just the generation of riders who used them, but subsequent ones too.
In peacetime, the 'H' was phased out and the from WD favour, though various models were used in penny numbers.
