Project Honda CL350 part 2 Niggles and nipples

After checking the spark plugs, with slightly perturbing results as we saw last time, the next step in my programme to get the engine working was to remove the carburettors (Photo 1).

I think it safe to say that this is always necessary as typically (for the sort of bikes I acquire anyway) the carbs have been out of use for a considerable time and any idea that they would still work ok would be an extremely optimistic one.

I don’t know what has happened here as evidently someone decided that they should cut through the throttle cables, retaining the adjusters
