“I had scooters back home in the 1980s. Saigon is the ideal place for a two wheeler, anything else doesn’t make sense. I use a twist ’n’ go for my daily ride but love this little VBB. It’s in original specification apart from the 12-inch wheel conversion which is a must-have given the state of the back streets here. Unusually for a Vietnamese scooter this has a full provenance going back to first registration in the Mekong Delta. I look at it and wish it could talk.”
