Heidi Stevens: 'I felt like I abandoned my long-time pal at the dealership': Readers share their own car farewells

Recently, I wrote a farewell column to my car.

She had, over our 11 years together, become a member of the family, seeing my kids and me through two moves, a divorce, remarriage, road trips and countless conversations to-and-from school/practices/errands.

I traded her in and welcomed a new family member into our home - a pre-owned Honda HR-V, which is adjusting quite well. Much easier than a puppy.
