CHICAGO - Floyd Brown was in prison for burglary in 2011 when he was allegedly recorded threatening in a telephone call that if he was released he'd "shoot it out" with police before ever going back to custody.
Eight years later, authorities say, Brown made good on his chilling promise, fatally shooting a McHenry County sheriff's deputy who was part of a task force attempting to serve an arrest warrant for Brown at a Rockford motel.
