MATERIALS
• 45 x 55cm (18 x 22in) 28 count cream evenweave linen
• 30cm ( 3/8yd) cream print fabric
• 15 x 55cm (6 x 22in) lightweight batting
• 20 x 55cm (8 x 22in) fusible interfacing
• 10cm (4in) square of wool flannel
• Stranded embroidery floss in three shades of green, three shades of pink, yellow, gold, purple and two shades of mauve – see Jenny’s Thread Tips. The darkest shades of each colour are #1; the lightest #3
• Petite glass beads in mauve and gold
• Crewel wool in green and two shades of purple
• 1m (1 1/8yd) each of 3-4mm (1/8in) silk ribbon in green and two shades of purple
• Size 8 crewel, size 3, 4 or 5 straw/milliners, chenille, tapestry, beading and quilting needles
• One small press stud
• Machine sewing thread to match and contrast with the linen
• Embroidery hoop with inner ring wrapped in cotton tape
• 30cm (12in) wire – such as can be cut from the base of a wire coathanger
• Beeswax (optional) – see Jenny’s Beading Tip
• Pressing sheet
• Scrap of cardboard
• Spray starch
• Lightbox (optional)
• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
• Sewing machine – 1/4in foot
• General sewing supplies
