After sorting out the oil filter I needed to fill up with oil, as the sump was apparently empty. The oil capacity is just two litres, the level being checked with a dipstick. You rest the top on the crankcase hole to set the dipstick position for checking, rather than screwing it all the way in and out again.

I did briefly mention the contact breakers last time and one area I should have mentioned was the auto-advance unit behind the points.

Although the mileage was very low, this bike had probably been out of action
