Shoe specialist GRANT BRYANT runs us through the development of running shoe technology.

It interests me (a shoe nerd) to see how technology has changed over the years. Here are my highlights of the major improvements in technology.

MIDSOLES: PURE MAGIC

In the early days of running shoes, they were all largely the same, because available technology and materials were limited at the time. They were made from die cut EVA (sheets of ethylene-vinyl acetate foam that were cut into the shapes needed), usually with nylon uppers sewn on.
