It is the first day of kindergarten and Junie B Jones is not excited to ride the stupid smelly bus. She does not like the way it smell or the people on it. Junie B Jones tries to hide from riding again but her mother finds her at the school and her mother makes her sit with a girl from her class. This is a very sweet book that you can read to students in the younger grades. this is also a great starter chapter book for students in the 3rd grade.

I love Junie B. Jones. Junie is scared to ride the bus and comes amiss one afternoon. She has every one scared and worried, but she learns that you have to try new things every once in a while. In the end, she realizes that riding the bus is not so bad after all.

This book is one of the series that tells of a little girl name Junie B. Jones who shows her many adventures. In this book it is her first day of kindergarten and thinks that it is going to be awful especially when she learns she is going to have to ride the bus. But by the end of the book she learns that it isn't that bad especially after you make a friend to keep you company on your adventures. This book is great for an early reader who is wanting to read chapter books. This book also helps students learn that even if something seems like it is going to be scary just to give it a chance because it might be fun and take you on some pretty crazy adventures.

Junie B. Jones and the stupid smelly bus was a great book for students who are starting to read chapter books. This book has incorrect grammar at times, as well as simply bad writing skills. I am sure that the author of the book did this on purpose to may be relate to the students. I would recommend this book to other teachers for students as i mentioned above who is just starting to read chapter books. books like this one may not intimidate students who are not as confident in there reading. This helps the students become familiar with the wording, and also stretches there brain a little more then normal. Junie B. Jones is a great series!

This is the first in a series about a little girl who is just starting to go to kindergarten. The story is told from a 5-year-old's perspective as she experiences school for the first time and socializes with other children. As an adult, the story is really hilarious and I found myself laughing out loud several times. However, this is not a book I would choose to read to my own 5-year-old, who I would prefer not imitate the name calling, bad grammar and overall bad attitude displayed by Junie B. She is no role model.

I don't want to love Junie B. but her honesty and sincere child behavior draws me to her like flies to honey. In this, the first in the Junie B. series our protagonist is experiencing the first few days of school. Junie B. does not mean to bossy or mean, but she is a natural organizer and very determined at that. Junie faces adventure as she discovers what school, Kindergarten to be exact, is all about. Barbara Park writes the Junie B character with honesty and sincerity. Junie B. is far from a perfect role model, but she is tenacious and inspiring. Children love this character because they relate to her on many levels. This is a wonderful series to hook life-long readers.

Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus is a great transition book. This particular book is about Junie B. Jone's first day at school as a kindergartner. We all know the first day of school can be intimidating. This book is realistic fiction because many children go through the same troubles on the first day of school.

Genre: Realistic FictionReview: This early chapter book is considered a realistic fiction story because every school year, it is the first day of kindergarten for many children and there are possibly many children who are afraid of riding the school bus, just like Junie B. Jones was in the story. The characters and the setting are not based on true people or places, but the story as a whole can be relatable to a child, making it a realistic fiction story. I think these books are junk - they may be funny but they also have terrible themes and morals and usually end with Junie being told she did something wrong - but is always forgiven so she never learns a lesson. Although they may be a good introduction book to children who are not big on reading.

This book is about a little girl name Junie B., and she is just starting kindergarten. The only problem is Junie doesn't want to ride the smwlly school bus. On the first day of school Junie rode the bus to school, and the other children trampled over her. Junie enjoyed her first day of kindergarten, until it was time for her to go home. Junie didn't want to ride the bus so she hid from her teacher. Once the teacher realized she lost a student she ran back to look for her, but she couldn't find her. Once Junie thought everyone was gone, she went to every room in the school. Finally Junie tried to used the restroom, but it was locked. Junie couldn't hold it, so she began to panic. Junie remembered her mother told her if she has an emergency to call 911, and she did just that. Junie saw police, ambulance and fire fighters and she wondered what was going on. Then she saw the janitor and told him she was having an emergency and needed to use the restroom. He immediately open up the restroom for her and she made it before she had an accident. When she returned outside she saw her mother, the principal, and her teacher. Junie knew she was in big trouble because her mother called he "Missy". After all, Junie didn't have to ride the smelly school bus again.

A great book about a little girl who just hates the bus. Its her first day of school and she is scared of the unknown. Her mom puts her on the bus in the morning. Someone on the bus told her a lie about the bus in the evenings so she gets really scared and refuses to ride the bus home. She stays at school in a closet untill everybody leaves. Another great Junie B Jones book.

The reason why I gave this book a five, because I really enjoyed this book. I remember reading Junie B. Jones books and also I remember reading this specific book especially when I was younger. This book is not so big that the child or children that read this book want be so overwhelmed. Its just a small chapter book and I think children would love it. My thought about this book is that all children can relate to there first day of school and there first time riding a big yellow school bus that has alot of different children on there. This book can be used by teaching children the rules and cautions of riding a school bus. I remember me being afraid of riding the school bus because I was afraid that I would get off at the wrong place or even miss the bus. I really enjoyed this book and I think all the children that read this book will enjoy it.

I gave it a four in a half, because I really did enjoyed the book, I remember reading Junie B. Jones books, when I was young, but not this story. but the age group that I am trying to work with this book may and may not be appropriate for them. The ones that I am trying to work with are ages 3-5. I say that because of the word, thats in the title, but I think the children would enjoy reading this story.

Junie B. Jones books are a great way of transiting children to larger sized books. These books are not so big that students are overwhelmed. Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus is one of my all time favorites. This book is hilarious and children love it. All children can relate to the fear of their first day of school and their first day of riding the school bus. I woudl discuss with children the importance of bus rules and the cautions that they should use if they ride a bus. I would also discuss friendships.I was so scared the first day that I had to ride a school bus. My fear was that I would get off at the wrong house or worse than that miss my bus after school and have to spend the night like Junie B.

I went and sat in the kids section and decided I was going to read the Junie B. Jones series. It's a fun, little quick read. It's about Junie's first day at kindergarten and she absolutely does not like the school bus. So, what she does to avoid the bus causes quite an uproar. Definitely going to read the next one.

So this is what all of the fuss was about. Junie doesn't like riding the school bus, so she hides out in the supply closet at the end of the first day of school and causes a minor panic. This girl is a brat. I bet kids love her.

This is the first Junie B. Jones book to read and I have to say I really enjoyed reading it! I loved reading how Junie B. would get into hilarious situations! In this book, Junie B. desides that she doesn't like riding the schoolbus after school at all and proceeds to hide in the classroom paper closet. This is a great book for readers transitioning from longer picture books to easy to read chapter books. This was a quick and enjoyable read for me!

This is the first book of the very popular Junie B. Jones series. In this book Junie is starting kindergarten and has to ride the bus to school, which she really does not want to do. On the bus ride to school the bus smells like egg salad sandwich, the kids are mean, and Junie can't open the window. After she finishes her first day and the kids are lining up to get back on the bus, Junie decides to hide in the supply closet so she doesn't have to get on the stupid, smelly bus again. After everyone leaves she gets to explore the school all by herself! The book was a cute read. The author did a great job at showing readers what this experience would be like through the eyes of a kindergartener, although I was a little surprised at how snippy Junie B. sounds at some points.

The first day she avoids the bus by staying at school and hiding in the closet. This scares her mom. When her mom finally finds Junie B. they decide that maybe the bus might not be so bad after all and she rides the bus to school again the next day.

I read Junie B. and I just feel compelled to giggle. It seems she is the modern Ramona. My youngest has finally reached the point she can read Junie B. on her own, after years of trying. We are thrilled. This is not the book for folks that think children's books are all about teaching children good behavior. This is the book to read and giggle.

Junie B Jones is starting her first day of kindergarten, and is afraid of the stupid smelly bus that she has to ride to get there. I can relate to this fear, as a junior high school student I vividly remember being in awe of the high schoolers that survived the experience of a huge building with hundreds of kids teeming about. Junie gets into trouble and uses language I imagine a real kindergartner would use. The book is split into chapters and can easily be enjoyed by early elementary kids as well as actual kindergartners. I would include this in my collection.
