About this audiobook

Katherine O'Connor often spends her days at a cozy cafe on Blossom Street in Seattle, where she writes Christmas letters for other people. She's good at making their everyday lives sound more interesting. More humorous. More dramatic.

But for Dr. Wynn Jeffries, who also frequents the cafe, Christmas means lies and deception. In fact, the renowned child psychologist recommends that parents "Bury Santa Under the Sleigh." Katherine, however, feels that his parenting philosophy is one big mistake-at least, based on her four-year-old twin nieces, who are being raised according to his "Free Child" methods.

She argues with Wynn about his theories, while he argues that her letters are nothing but lies. They disagree about practically everything-and yet, somehow, they don't really want to stop arguing.

As the days-and nights-move closer to Christmas, Katherine and Wynn both discover that love means accepting your differences. And Christmas is about the things you share.

This wasn't my favorite of the Debbie Macomber holiday romances I've read so far this season. I didn't like KO's focus on her weight, and how she gained 2 pounds and it was the end of the world. But I thought the story as a whole was cute, I just wanted it to be a bit longer. I wanted more conversation about the hero and heroine's differences.

A cute, fast read with a few points where I really had to engage the old suspension of disbelief. Still worth it for the fun.

I liked the story it was nice. I did have a hard time with the narrator. I found it just a little hard to stay focused.

Nice story but it seemed unrealistic to get so far into their relationship ignoring the major issue on which they disagree and I felt she gave too easily in the end. Katherine who writes Christmas letters for people comes across child psychologist Wynn in a cafe and disagrees with his 'bury Santa under the sleigh' philosophy.

This is the first of Debbie Macomber's books I've read. I enjoyed it although I probably wouldn't work very hard at finding more, but I do like to read Christmas themed books at Christmastime.

The Christmas festivities are in full swing on Blossom Street. But while many are making merry with decorations and presents, others are subscribing to a new philosophy that might have been penned by the Grinch himself. Dr. Wynn Jeffries has some profound ideas about child-rearing, and one of them includes banning Santa Claus. Meanwhile, Katherine O’Connor is busily writing Christmas letters for other people, making their lives seem far more interesting than they really are. When her sister embraces the doctor’s theories, Katherine jumps into action, and her encounter with Wynn leads to unexpected complications. It’s Christmas, and author Debbie Macomber works her magic with the characters of Blossom Street. There is more than snow in the air . . . could it possibly be romance?

Tis the season, so I picked this up at the library knowing I would be able to finish it in an hour or two when I needed not to think. I was actually expecting something a little more sacharine than this turned out to be. The protagonists start out disliking each other intensly before inexplicably falling in love within a week. There really isn't enough depth to the story to comment on the characters or plot but I enjoyed Dr Jeffries getting his comeuppance in regards to his 'Free Child' theory, most reasonable parents would choke at his textbook psychology.Predictable but not without charm, Christmas Letters is a cozy romance for the Christmas season.

It's always fun to read a few Christmas books between Thanksgiving and New Years. This quick-read is a fun look at the romance and the holidays.
