About this audiobook
Claire Walters has worked for Jason Danvers as his assistant for three years, but he's never appreciated her as a woman -- until the day she jumps out of a cake at his friend's bachelor party...
To support her ailing mother, Claire is forced to work a second job at a party-planning company. But when her handsome boss ends up with a front-row seat to the action, she's mortified-and he's intrigued.
With Danvers International in the middle of an important merger, Jason asks Claire to accompany him on weekend business trips-and suddenly all her fantasies are coming true. Her outspoken best friend thinks that getting a little "executive attention" will solve everything. But Claire sees more in Jason than just sex.
Jason is determined to know how the beautiful, sexy woman in the cake could also be his mousy assistant. The more time they spend together, the more he realizes how much fun it can be to mix business with pleasure. And how much he wants to offer her a happily ever after of her own...

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Short and sweet. :)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5You will laugh, cry and yes, fall in love with Jason. Great Summer read! Imagine Claire, mousey executive assistant, hair in a bun, always dressed in subdued colors. Imagine Jason, controlling CEO of a growing company used to his way and always knowing the 411 in any situation. Now imagine Jason's surprise while at a bachelor's party when he recognizes his executive assistant as she pops out of a cake in sexy underwear and looking like a million dollars. YEP! Surprise!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A soft, enjoyable cozy. No surprises, but nice people.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Awesome series!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was an interesting listen, but not much of a "story". More of "this is what happened". Not my style, but not too awful.

I read another Danvers book and liked it well enough I thought I'd start at the beginning.
Terrible unrealistic dialogue... even for a romance novel this is bad. Hearing it spoken aloud really highlights how badly it us written. I swear there were no contractions used. Never really got to know the H, h behaved stupidly over and over, and they never had a single conversation about their relationship. No discussion. No talking to each other about what was going on. Assumptions all the way. Big pet peeve: h says she must apologize to H about something . . . and then never does! She says terrible things to H and neither brings it up again! There are too many good stories to waste time on a bad one. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5After three years of having fantasies about her boss, Claire finally gets a taste of what the sexy Jason has to offer. But her past growing up with an abusive father gets in the way.
Jason is a take charge kind of guy and after he finds out why Claire is working a weekend job as a "stripper" he offers to help her. But she sees it as him paying to sleep with her.
So is Jason a shrewd businessman looking for a little something-something with his assistant or is he a regular guy with a big check book and even bigger heart?
Claire and Jason have some sexy times and emotional times during their budding romance. They both have issues that they have to get through to see a HEA.
Sydney Landon writes believable characters and real life problems. I really enjoyed taking a break from my normal genres (paranormal romance & urban fantasy) to read Weekends Required. While the book was not full of smut but there was still plenty of between the sheet action and I love the fact that the couple knew each other for a long period of time and didn't meet one day and was in love the next. I really like that about contemporaries. Sure it's fun for the PNR when a person finds their "mate" but when it comes to "real" people I prefer a shared history or a slow build up to their moment where they say "I love you".
I grabbed Weekends Required and the next book, Not Planning on You from Edelweiss and I can't wait to start reading about the couple in the second book. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I liked the premise of this book, but the writing didn't hold up. It was rather unsophisticated and didn't flow smoothly. Plus several comma splices that kept distracting me.
