About this audiobook

A scholar specializing in ancient manuscripts, Grace St. John never imagined that a cache of old documents she discovered was the missing link to a lost Celtic treasure. But as soon as she deciphers the legend of the Knights of the Templar - long fabled to hold the key to unlimited power - Grace becomes the target of a ruthless killer bent on abusing the coveted force. Determined to stop him, Grace needs the help of a warrior bound by duty to uphold the Templar's secret for all eternity. But to find him - and to save herself - she must go back in time . . . to fourteenth-century Scotland . . . and to Black Niall, a fierce man of dark fury and raw, unbridled desire. . . .

I'm not a big fan of paranormal romance but since this one was from Linda Howard, I give it a try. At first I was engrossed in the way things were getting for Grace but later in the story I was getting bored. The plot seemed to be a little slow and stalled and suddenly things changed. All I can say is wow! I want a Niall for myself :)Even with all the paranormal stuff, Linda Howard delivered a wonderful story full of suspense, twist and turns and hot steamy scenes.

Interesting and very unusual. The story weaves between on-the-run present day and the 1300s in an interesting and jarring way. The characters are sympathetic and engaging and the progression and development of the main character is engaging. Not exactly a good beach read, because it is not light and fluffy. But it is engrossing and I found I did not want to put it down.

Enjoyable time travel story involving 1322 Scotland. All the intrigue and the unusual romance were good. I especially liked the heroines fortitude during her devastation. Grace translates historical documents and the one she is working on about the Knights of Templar is stirring up killers.

Another Howard favorite. This is a darker novel and a departure form her others as it is a contemporary suspense, historical and time travel all rolled into one. I tend to think of it more as Grace's story and less as a romance, but it works either way.

If you like a story that is more sex than plot, than this is the book for you.

This is an older book, which I've re-read several times - spacing the re-reading by several years at a time. Listening to it, I expected to not enjoy it anymore - knowing the ending. But this version is well narrated by Natalie Ross (sp?) - and I was surprised to still enjoy it. Some of the content is dated - reference to floppy discs, for instance - but this does not detract from the story. Highly recommend it.

My copy of Son of the Morning continues to roam around my workplace. My employees do not even bother asking me whether they can borrow it, it just goes right to the next person who wants it. I loved this book (and so do half the people I work with). I thought it was the best Linda Howard book by far.

Take one shot of Templar secrets, a half shot of romance, one shot secret society, one shot time travel and one shot ruthless megalomaniac; shake well and you get this novel. Grace St. John is a scholar specialising in ancient manuscripts who is deciphering a set of recently discovered papers that appear to be a key to a lost treasure. When she finds herself on the run after her ruthless boss kills her husband and brother she decides that the papers must be very important and she works on translating them, with a little help from an interesting variety of characters. What she eventually discovers changes her world. Now it's not a bad read, Graces' growth is quite interesting and dragged me in but the resolution left me a little unsatisfied and I'm finding it difficult to work out why. It falls somewhere between a romance novel and the Da Vinci code and I found it quite readable.

One of the best time travel romances I've ever read. I enjoy the characters and the story equally upon each re-read.
