- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is amazing!!! I love the way the author told the story and baited people to continue reading to find out if the statements were true! I also love that the Bald Eagle, symbol of our freedom, was on every page except one. I would use this book to talk about government, war, birth of our nation, freedom, patriotism, loyalty, etc.... Its awesome!! Can easily tie into unit studies and inquiry. Grades 3+ for the surface story but up to grade 8 for content.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was awsome. This book was about the many homes that the Declaration of Independence had.It also tells you who signed the document and what wars took place. This book is filled with crazy illustrations and bright colors. The facts are really neat. i loved this book. There was so many things that i didn't know about the Declaration of Independence, that i learned from this book. The extention that i would use for my class is that each student get in groups andd give a presentation on the Declaration means to them.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Fun factual approach, interactive, with fun interesting pictures.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book gives a detailed account of the journey of the Declaration of Independence, from 1776 to today. With lively illustrations and text, this book is a great read for elementary students. While many view the Declaration of Independence as just an old document, the author brings this piece of parchment to life. The Declaration survived the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the American Civil War, the smoky State, War, and Navy Building, and years of neglect and disputes. The journey of the Declaration was long, but the author was able to capture it from its beginning to its current home in the National Archives Building.
