Eshe D'Aureus having known Lucius for centuries, who has watched over her as a promise from her father, has asked her, as a enforcer for the council, to look into the deaths of his brothers Armand's three wives, one a lifemate, and the other two immortals but were just married to him. So Eshe goes to investigate, only to find that Armand is unlike any other immortal, for one, she can't read him, which surprises her considering that she is older than Armand, and should be able to read him. So she is left for two weeks with Armand under the pretense of hiding from someone that wants her killed, even though its a lie, but apparently Armand can't read her either, and as she futher investigates, she starts to realize that her appetites for both food and sex has come alive again, which could only mean one thing, that Armand is her lifemate, a lifemate that is under investigation that if proven guilty will end up dead by the council. But as truths become unveiled, so does that passion between Eshe and Armand, and when she realizes that she is falling in love with Armand, she wonders if she can let him go if it becomes necessary, so she must do everything in her power to prove him innocent, so that she doesn't lose him after she has found him.Born To Bite, was a romantic treasure to read. I was able to get a copy of the Audiobook, and since it was my first time ever listening to Sands audio books, I was curious, but found that I enjoyed the narrator and the storyline and especially the characters that were involved. I always wondered after Nicholas's story, about the story behind Armand and the deaths of his wife's and Annie. So it was a delight to be taken on a thrilling ride of mystery, adventure and love. These two characters Armand and Eshe, were very enriching to read from, and definitely a bit different than her other characters, especially Eshe. Eshe is the kind of female immortal, that rides a motorcycle, that wear leather, and fights just as well as any male enforcer, and definititely fights her own battles. Armand, has suffered many losses, losing so many that he has loved, and even has yet to see his own daughter, for her own protection, and tortures himself for hurting those that he loves but can't afford to see for their own safety. So both these are deep characters, and the whole plot will definitely be a thrilling ride for any reader, and the ending was purely precious, and brought a few tears to this readers eye (but in a good way of course, and those of you who have read Born To Bite, know what I mean) and its definitely one of my favorites of this author!!! Lynsay Sands definitely delivers with every book!!!!

Not my favorite read of the series. It lacked the humor, romance, and smooth writing of the other books. I almost felt like it was a different author. The storyline was good, but I didn't feel the romance. I felt like there was no development of the relationship and very little dialogue outside of discussing the murder mystery.

Not the best book in the series but not the worst either. I liked that this book had a bit of a mystery to solve and it answered a question I had from a previous book. I liked the change from past stories. I also liked the characters in this one. I just wished we had gotten to know more about Eshe, especially her children. The plot was decent but there was one problem that kept bugging and I don't want to discuss it in detail because it will spoil the story. You will know what I am talking about if you read the book.Despite the few relative minor things I enjoyed this one and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Engaging but fairly predictable, the characters were interesting but the plot felt a bit lacking for me, I didn't really feel like I got to know the characters outside their wacky hi-jinks and having to escape firey death at every turn, at the same time it was an engaging read and kept me wanting to know who did it and why.Light, enjoyable but I wouldn't really read it again.

I really enjoyed this Argeneau book although it is a bit different from the others in the series in that it has a bit of a mystery to figure out and not as much humor. I enjoyed the mystery aspect and kept going back and forth on who I thought was the killer until it was revealed. I did however miss the usual bantering and humor that I always look forward to in these series.

Aside from this, Armand and Eshe are cute together even thought there is very little build up. They both are older and know exactly what it means when they can’t read each other and decide not to waste time despite their differences. Well that is once Armand realizes that whoever the killer is already after Eshe too and it is too late to send her away to protect her…so she has to stay with him!

This series will definitely remain on my to be read list and I am looking forward to the last Willian sister Alex’s story coming soon!

An enjoyable vampire romance with a crime to solve, plenty of humor, steamy sex and action packed. Armand Argeneau lost three wives and lives secluded life as a farmer until enforcer Eshe is sent in to investigate. I like authors epilogues that provoke reminiscing of previous books in the series.

Another great story by Lynsay Sands. I love the Argeneau series and wish I was apart of their family LOL.In Born to Bite you finally get to hear Armand's story and everything about his past. Including how all three of his wives died. Armand goes on a mission along with Eshe to try to find out if his wives deaths were really an accident or if they were murdered.Of course in the beginning, Armand has no idea that Eshe was really sent there to investigate him and find out if he has anything to do with their deaths. He thinks he is doing Lucian a favor by hiding Eshe on his farm. One thing leads to another between the two, and you have an exciting little trip. What I liked the most about this story was, that Armand had given up on finding love and practically lived alone on his farm and with his workers. He kept his distance from his family feeling like anyone he was around dies. He never spent time with his children or barely even called anyone. So when he meets Eshe and realizes it's another shot at love his whole world changes. Same goes for Eshe, who lost her life mate in a battle. They were both given the chance to love again and be happy.Though some parts were very predictable, I still very much enjoyed Born to Bite. Of course Lynsay Sands never fails when it comes to the romance parts. Just like the other books in this series, I laughed and fell in love with the Argeneau family all over again. I found Lucian very funny in this book. I love him mated! Now, the wait for the next Argeneau story. Which is going to kill me.I give Born to Bite Four Stars!

An Argeneau Vampire novel by author Lynsay Sands. Armand Argeneau has lost three wives to unexpected deaths and the "council" has sent an enforcer (Eshe) to see if he was in any way responsible. Eshe's attraction towards Armand proves to be more deadly than she anticipated. Another life is on the line and answers are needed immediately.I enjoyed reading this book but thought the hero of the story should not have been shown as being so complacent in accepting the deaths of his wives. I think it weakened his character. A relentless quest to investigate their untimely deaths would have added more to Armand's character.

OK, I have to tell you I am such a die hard Argeneau fan... And when I was lucky enough to receive Born to Bite for Review I was all a twitter :)I have been wanting to know about the mysterious Armand Argeneau since I started reading this series. I pondered is he a murderer or does he just have really bad luck with women. Each time he falls in love and is blessed with a child each of his wives die in mysterious accident... Armand has distanced himself from and pushed his family away for centuries, leaving his sister in law to raise his children. Good father or unfeeling Bastard???? We shall see....Born to Bite opens Armand's son Nicholas (Hero of the last Rogue Hunter book Renegade Hunter ) a former Rogue Hunter being held for the alleged murder of a human woman.Lucian bad ass head of the Council. Is trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together.. could the murder of the human woman be related to the deaths of Armand's wives???Lucian sends one of his best people to snoop around in Armand's life to try and determine whether he is guilty or innocent. Enter Eshe d'Aureus 6 ft of awesome motorcycle riding enforcer. Eshe can't believe how she feels when she first sees Armand. She is instantly in lust with him. But she is there under the guise of staying at his farm to hid out for her own safety.. as if.. she need help protecting herself. Armnad is also instantly taken with Eshe, but he know every time he falls for someone they die a horrible death. So he will do his best to push away his possible new life mate. What ensues is a wonderfully fun story filled with twists and turns, Romance, Drama, Lies and Deception...I love that you get to see what the past lives of the Argeneau family were like. And I really didn't see this ending coming O_0I thoroughly enjoyed Lynsay Sands newest tale of the Argeneau family. It is like visiting with old friends and catching up on all the new events as well as Armand finding Eshe a new life mate who was Born to Bite ^..^If you are a fan of this series you wont be disappointed

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review Born To Bite by Lynsay Sands. The Argeneau series is one of my favorites, and this one is by far the hottest one yet.Born to Bite is Armand's story, and holds a key to the puzzle that ties the series together. Like many other readers I was wondering if Armand really killed his wives, and who set up Nicholas. Well Born to Bite explains it and finally gives up closure on the subject. Eshe and Armand's story was one of my favorites. I have to say I was surprised by who really was the killer, and why. Born to Bite was one of those books, you couldn't put down. The romance and mystery mix was perfect. Eshe was a strong and vibrant character. I loved her wild hair, crazy motorcycle, and her life for the moment attitude. She was just what Armand needed to bring him out of his shell and back to being apart of the Argeneau family. Born to Bite is not exactly the typical Argeneau novel, Eshe and Armand are already both immortal and have both previously had a life mate. There is no search for lifemates, or adjusting to being immortal, instead Born to Bite explains the mystery of Armand's wives and how they died. Born to Bite , is the 13th book in the Argeneau, and though it could be read as a stand alone, I suggest reading them in order to get the full feel for the series. I found Born to Bite to be a wonderful addition to the series, and look forward to the next. This series is one of the best vampire series out there, and I recommend it to any vampire lover.
