About this audiobook

We're the D'Artigo sisters: Half-human, half-Faerie, we are savvy-and sexy-operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But our mixed-blood heritage short-circuits our talents at all the wrong times. My sister Camille is a wicked-good witch whose magic is as unpredictable as the weather. My sister Delilah transforms into a tabby cat when she's under stress. And me? I'm Menolly, acrobat-extraordinaire-turned-vampire. And I'd give my right fang to make my sire pay for killing me. That is, if he doesn't find me first...

All over Seattle, humans have been going missing, only to turn up as newborn vampires-the sure sign of a rogue vamp on the loose. It looks like Dredge is to blame-the same sadistic Dredge who gave me my scars and who may well be in cahoots with the demon Shadow Wing. If so, Otherworld and Earth are screwed. The only way we can hope to defeat Dredge is for me to travel home to Otherworld and face my own demons. For unless I sever the ties that bind me to Dredge, all hell is going to break loose.

Great plot setting and characters! I loved how each sister developed in their own way throughout the book.

Third book in the series, Darkling is a nice progression of the overall saga. A new demon character is introduced who we will likely see more of as the story progresses. Good character development & strong storyline. The book was a little slow to start but I don't believe that it could have been handled any other way given the main character's old history that the readers needed to understand.

I am new to this genre and haven't read a lot of paranormal romance. Nora Roberts' THREE SISTERS ISLAND TRILOGY is the only series that I can compare. Yasmine Galenorn has introduced me to this genre and I am hooked. I am enjoying this series so far and am looking forward to reading more.

The D'Artigo sisters and the rest of the cast are memorable and each is enjoyable in their own right. They hold their own and are well rounded. I love how the sisters have their flaws because of them being half-fae and half-human. I enjoy seeing the way some humans, such as Chase, show some uneasiness or acceptance in the paranormal making them feel real. I enjoyed the new character Roz as he fit into the story with ease and not as an afterthought character.

After reading the first 2 novels, I didn't know how I would enjoy this one; I am not a big vampire person. I lean towards witches. But after reading this one, Menolly became my favorite character. I love her personality and how much she cares about her friends and family, and vampire circle. Especially the way she connected to Maggie, and she herself doesn't know why.

I enjoyed how the murders of this story intertwined with Menolly's background. We received bits of pieces of her background, how she felt mentally, and how she cared about her sister's feelings on what happened in the first 2 novels. In this novel, we didn't find the whole story until a little later when something happens.

The novel was exciting to read and a page-turner. The only time I put it down was when I needed to sleep, leave to go somewhere, or needed a break. Being part of a romance series, there were not too many romance scenes like the last 2 novels. The story didn't call for many scenes. The ones were in there felt part of the story and any more would have felt forced.

I recommend this book and series to anyone who wants to find a new author or paranormal romance series. I am glad I found this series and took a chance.

This is the third book in the series and this time we find out the story of Menoly. Each of the sisters has been fleshed out at this point but many characters have been brought into play so I'm curious to see how this will continue as a series.

So this book wasn't as bad as the last one, but it wasn't as good as the first one. Or maybe the novelty just wore off for me. Anyway, I'm glad to have this little series done. It wasn't a bad series - by no means a great one, but also not a terrible one. It had some neat ideas, and if it could have skipped the yucky sex scenes and "liberated" women, it probably would have been a bit better. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a thing against liberated women. I consider myself a feminist. But this series seemed to equate sexual promiscuity with "liberation" (a rather common thing in books, I've seen), which just kind of turns me off. I liked the overarching story, but I really could have done without the emotionless, nasty sex scenes, thanks. And in case you think I'm some kind of prude - I'm not. I read tons of romance novels, I even enjoy some good erotica - I just don't like the cold, meaningless copulation that these books seem to embrace. But maybe that's just me.

Not as interesting to me as the second book, or even the first book. This particular sister seems to revel in the whining.

The third novel about three sisters who are half-fae and half-human. Camille is a witch with malfunctioning magic, Delilah shifts into a tabby kitty (and now sometimes a black panther) and Menolly was turned into a vampire. The series is written (so far at least) with a different sister narrating the story. This time it's Menolly so there is a vampire focus throughout and her vicious sire Dredge looks to be back ready to inflict more torture, pain and death to those she loves.See this isn't your Twilight kind of tale. When Menolly was turned she was caught spying on Dredge and his cronies for the powers that be in Otherworld. Instead of just killing her, he subjected her to life scarring mutilation all over her body excluding just her face, hands and feet. He then raped her repeatedly and as she was on the brink of death he made her drink his blood. Returning to her unlife full of violence and blood lust, Dredge then sent her home to feast on her family. Luckily she had enough wits about her to hide and begin the slow process of regaining her shattered mind.Of the three sisters, so far I have warmed to Menolly the most. She's quite cold and shuns physical relationships (partly due to her new vampire nature and partly because of her horrific past), but I still wanted to get to know her. She didn't get much air time in the previous two books either. As part of her challenge in destroying Dredge she has to relive her turning so she can understand and heal what was done long ago which was pretty harrowing. One thing I wasn't sure about is that she has two sexual experiences in the short space of this novel after giving up sex for many years. It seemed a bit much but then I suppose she is supposed to be healing from all old injuries caused that night, but still it didn't sit quite right. The first one made complete sense in the context of the story, but not really the second one which seemed more just to titillate readers and it didn't feel right for the character to me. Overall though an enjoyable read and I can't wait to get back to Menolly's story again in the series.

If you haven't had the pleasure of reading Yasmine Galenorn's new Urban Fantasy series. Your definitely missing out and I highly recommend that you check it out. I finished reading Darkling this week. It is the third book in Galenorn's Sisters of the Moon series. I really enjoyed this just as I did the first two. The Otherworld is a great place to spend time in. The third book is in Menolly's POV, the youngest of the sisters. Like her sisters she is half-human and half-Faerie, but she is also a vampire. Trying to deal with her demons and the nightmares of her sire. In the first two books you find out that Menolly has been through hell and is kinda hard and cold due to that. What I liked about this third book is that we got the whole story behind Menolly and found out that she isn't all cold, but has a very soft side to her. I'm looking forward to read more stories in her POV.

The story from Menalie's perspective is very interesting. I am enjoying that the story builds with each sister.

I find myself more and more drawn into this world and its characters which each book I read. "Darkling" is narrated by Menolly, a vampire who is also part fae/part human. Her sisters are also special...Camille is a witch and Delilah is a shifter who can change into a panther or a tabby cat. In "Darkling" Menolly finds out that her sire Dredge has been leading his band vampires into turning many citizens and then abandoning them. The new vamps wake up confused and in bloodlust, without a sire's guidance. They kill without thought. Menolly turns to her friends and family to try to find these vamps and put a stop to their games before the general population finds out and breaks into hysteria. Menolly was turned by Dredge against her will when she was kidnapped, raped and tortured by him, so she has always been eager for revenge. Now may be the perfect chance to make him pay, but first she must sever the tie between them, an invisible bond between sire and child. Menolly has to go into the Otherword and face her personl demons before she can have a chance to kill Dredge. Menolly ties for my favorite D'Artigo sister (with Delilah!) and I love the cast of entertaining, interesting side characters, espcially Iris and the baby gargoyle Maggie. I am a little annoyed by the fact that all the sisters have multiple lovers. It seems unrealistic to believe that while all three have several lovers (Camille has three!), none of their lovers seem to have any other women! While it is not gross like it is in the Anita Blake books, it still feels very gratuitous. Still it doesn't detract too much from the story, and the plot lines are always very well thought out and put together. There is a nice sense of resolution in the book but enough dangling threads to keep you hanging on for the next installment.

Third book in the series, told from the youngest sister's perspective. (Looks like the fourth will be going back to the oldest's.) It was good. The fight continues & we learn more about the family from Menolly. She's a vampire & takes the lead as they battle her creator. The story line is very similar to the other two. I don't have the fourth book & don't mind waiting a while to get it. It's not a bad story, but it's also not compelling or different enough to make me want to run out & get the next. 2.5 stars is more accurate. It's important to read this series in order. I appreciate that the author doesn't drag us down with a lot of recapping, but there is enough to provide spoilers that would harm the suspense in the other books.

Again, Galenorn outdoes herself in developing her characters. The D'Artigo sisters relationships between each other and others shows both their dark sides along with their softer, caring sides. This book focuses on Menolly, the half-human-half-fey-turned-vampire sister. She is a very complex person due to her torture, turning, and deep rooted values that her sire was unable to change. Another favorite!

Darkling was a thrill to read. When I read the first in the series, Witchling, I fell in love with Camille; when I read the second in the series, Changling, I fell in love with Delilah and thought that she was my favorite sister. Then along comes the dark and twisting Darkling. Now it feels as though Menolly is my favorite sister. Each book changes vantage points between sisters, and Galenorn has discovered the secret to making it work, and has made it work phenomenally. The storyline in Darkling is lighter than that of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, but still dark enough that you know not everything is peachy keen. Galenorn shows us that everyone has their own personal demons to handle, and that life isn't always about what is fair. I greatly look forward to reading the next in the Sisters of the Moon series, and discovering more about the world woven in the story and more about the delightfully sexy ass kicking D'Artigo Sisters!

Third in the Sisters of the Moon series. This one is narrated by Menolly, who is half-human, half-fey, and now all vampire. She was tortured and murdered 12 years ago, but her murderer was a vampire who turned her. In this book she and her sister Camille go to the City of Seers, seeking help in their battle against unknown enemies. There Menolly finds healing from her emotional wounds. So far I've liked this one the best in the series. The scenes set in the City of Seers are wonderfully imaginative, and the delving into Menolly's pain is well, sometimes even lyrically, handled.

Darkling is the third book in the Sisters of the Moon series, the follow-up of Changeling(2). In Witchling(1) we meet the D'Artigo sisters- Camille, the eldest who is a witch, Delilah, the middle child who is a werecat, and Menolly, the baby of the family who is a vampire. The plot of Witchling establishes the confusing existance of the three realms- Otherworld, Earth and the Subteranean Realms and introduces us to a host of otherwordly species from both those found on Earth and those from without. Darkling draws us further into the darker sides of these races. Menolly is dragged into a hunt for her own kind this time: vampires. The tale of how she was turned is revealed this time, giving us a new villain to loathe, Menolly's sire, Dredge. She's pretty sure he's behind the recent murders and turnings happening around Seattle, she just has to find out if he's working for his own agenda or that of Shadow Wing. Though darker in tone and content, Darkling is a story about healing. Menolly has been through so much more than anyone close to her knows and she finally has to face her demons both inside and out. Some fans will be disappointed that Smoky makes no appearance in this book but Maggie, Iris, Erin and Tim/Cleo, some other fan faves are all here and greatly enrich the story. I personally enjoyed Darkling the most of the three books in the series thus far. It was more emotional, touching and empowering than the other installments and Menolly turned out to be so much more than I had anticipated. A great new character, Roz, is introduced and while this story went off into left field regarding the main thread of the series it brought the sisters closer together which I think will be very important in future books. Greatly looking forward to the next installment- Dragon Wytch.

So far the best in the series. As I predicted, each book gets better and better for this author. This books focuses on Menolly D'Artigo, the vamipre sister. Hot sex and hot men and women keep me interested!
