- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It's a great story, told by the man himself. Only negative is that at times you can really tell that Pistone is reading off a piece of paper. It's sometimes sounds like a high school reading.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This is definitely abridged—there is no way the original book could have been read in three hours. And I remember many, MANY scenes that were not included in this audiobook—like when Brasco goes to a sitdown and decides to punch his accuser in the face in order to show how tough he was.
But oh, dear me—having Joe Pistone read his own book was a hilarious mistake, like getting the football player in the back row in English class to read Proust for the whole class. Hilarious for about ten minutes, unbearable for the rest of the interminable three hours.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not bad. It could have been much better if he had collaborated with a writer.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Interesting account of such an extraordinary feat of undercover work. Edited with intertwined real recordings.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a very good story but a few things kept this from being great. Pistone should not have read this book himself. He should've just provided the story but had someone else put it all together for him and had someone else read it. There was no emotion in his reading and he's not a very strong reader. Some of these people that read these books do an excellent job, like slightly changing their voice to indicate different people speaking. There were exchanges where you couldn't tell who was saying what. Still a good book and good story and I recommend it, just think it could've been a lot better.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very interesting read. I give 4 stars because of length. An agent spends six years infiltrating the mafia and the book is only 3 hours?!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In my opinion Joe is one of the greatest American heroes who ever lived. I liked hearing all the details about his life undercover, all the dangers he faced and most of all his integrity. It’d be a great honor to shake his hand.
All the Best to him and his. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great story, couldn't stop listening to the audio book. 5/5
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book, great story and a great movie to compliment it. This book shows what the true inner workings of a working class mob guy is like.
