About this audiobook

The book that introduced the world to Lucky Santangelo, offered in a special, two-part audio adaptation read by Jackie Collins—the unforgettable saga of the woman who conquered Las Vegas in Lucky and became Hollywood's top Lady Boss, the hot-blooded beauty who millions of readers know as a gambler, a lover, and a woman who's never afraid to take chances.

Gino Santangelo always knew he could count on his daughter. But when he fled the country to escape prosecution and entrusted her with his hard-won empire, Gino realized that Lucky Santangelo is no different than him—Lucky is a woman who could seize the reins of power with all the cunning, drive, and strength of a true Santangelo. Poised, sensuous, hungry for pleasure, Lucky is in love with power—and determined to fight for it.

From New York penthouses and the villas of Southern France to the casinos of Las Vegas and the bedrooms of Beverly Hills, here's the unforgettable story of a woman on top of a world of love, sex, and wealth—where power is the ultimate aphrodisiac.

Author

Jackie Collins

Jackie Collins has been called a “raunchy moralist” by the director Louis Malle and “Hollywood’s own Marcel Proust” by Vanity Fair. With over 500 million copies of her books sold in more than forty countries, and with thirty-two New York Times bestsellers to her credit, she is one of the world’s top-selling novelists. Six of her novels have been adapted for film or TV. Collins was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) by the Queen of England in 2013 for her services to literature and charity. When accepting the honor she said to the Queen, “Not bad for a school drop-out”—a revelation capturing her belief that both passion and determination can lead to big dreams coming true. She lived in Beverly Hills where she had a front-row seat to the lives she so accurately captured in her compulsive plotlines. She was a creative force, a trailblazer for women in fiction, and in her own words “a kick-ass writer!” Her fascinating life as a writer and icon is explored in the CNN Films and Netflix documentary Lady Boss: The Jackie Collins Story. I really enjoyed this book. Gino, Costa, Lucky, Carrie and Steven are very likeable characters. I was reading this book all night. Even when I had to put it down to get a little sleep I kept thinking about them and wondering what is happening with them. I hated to see it end.

This is a huge, engrossing, utterly addictive book. Jackie Collins is excellent if you're looking for a real page-turner, and this is a great place to start.

This book was absolutely phenomenal - the best portrayal of a crime family immersed in drugs and the glittery casino life I've read yet.

Feelin' Lucky? The Santangelo clan star in this, the first of a series featuring Gino Santangelo, and his two children: Dario, and the vixen Lucky.

Chances is a glamorous tale of lies, ruthlessness, murder and deceit, as only Jackie Collins?the "Queen of Glamorous Fiction"?can present it. This is a very good read; difficult to put down; worthy of five stars.

A must-read. But be sure to read Chances first, as it is the debut of the entire Santangelo series.
