About this audiobook

He's both feared and admired, respected and despised.  Boba Fett is the galaxy's most successful bounty hunter.  Now he finds himself the hunted in the oldest game of all: survival of the fittest.

The once powerful Bounty Hunter's Guild has been shattered into warring factions.  Now the posting of an enormous bounty on a renegade Imperial stormtrooper is about to start a frenzy of murderous greed.

Hoping to fuel rumors of his death, Boba Fett abandons his ship, Slave I, and sets out to claim the prize.  Yet his every move leads him closer to a trap set by the cunning Prince Xizor.  Fett will die before becoming Xizor's pawn in the Emperor's war against the Rebels.  And he may have to.  For in order to gain his freedom he must outwit a sentient weapon that feeds on human spirits.  Then he must escape a galaxy of deadly enemies who want to make the rumors of his death a reality.

Again, this is truly not my favourite series of Star Wars books. It's taking me forever to get through all three. You can tell the author primarily sticks to heavy science fiction writing - he tends to ramble in the character's voices. Really doesn't work for the "strong & silent" bounty hunter types. Only one more book to go... (Just goes to show that you can save a bad plot with great characters, but you can't ressurect a great plot with terrible characters.) And the plot is honestly very good - but it takes a vivid imagination to pull it through while you're reading it.

Slave Ship is the second novel in the Bounty Hunter Wars series; where the first book focused more keenly on various key figures in Bounty Hunter society, this novel looked more closely at the ruling caste of Kuat. There are still discrepancies in behaviour and back story when compared to other works covering Boba Fett, Dengar, etc... however these are minor enough that they can be attributed to a character's faulty memory, or a statement made in the heat of emotion. All in all, it is a fairly good read, and is most useful for the insight it provides into the politics behind Kuat Drive Yards. Recommended for devoted Star Wars fans, casual Science Fiction readers may want to skip this one however.
