About this audiobook
Now Tim LaHaye has created a new series that begins with Babylon Rising. The novels in this new series are even faster-paced thrillers based on prophecies that are not covered in the Left Behind books and that have great relevance to the events of today.
Babylon Rising introduces a terrific new hero for our time. Michael Murphy is a scholar of Biblical prophecy, but not the sedate and tweedy kind. Murphy is a field archaeologist who defies danger to fearlessly hunt down and authenticate ancient artifacts from Biblical times. His latest discovery is his most amazing-but it will send him hurtling from a life of excavation and revelations to a confrontation with the forces of the greatest evil. For the latest secret uncovered by Michael Murphy accelerates the countdown to the time of the end for all mankind.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5great! amazing!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not quite "Left Behind", but it was still good enough that I am looking for book 2!!!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Some of the stuff in the book was hard to swallow but over all it was a good book
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5an ok book I enjoyed the Old testament story, but the modern day really was forced and a little hokey
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Babylon Rising is an adventure featuring Michael Murphy, an Indiana Jones-like character who is an archaeologist, Bible scholar, and professor all rolled up into one manly man. Unlike Indiana Jones, Murphy's main passion in life is to seek out real artifacts to support the writings in the Bible. The story begins with Murphy engaged in an deadly challenge to obtain an archaeological artifact which gives him some valuable clues about a bronze serpent reputed to be from the era of Daniel. While there are a few seemingly impossible events, what I loved about this book is the wonderful subplots and tensions. Murphy's relationship with a colleague named Isis is so subtle. Isis seems to change throughout the story--yet we are not completely sure what is happening. The characters are are very interesting. I really enjoyed reading this book and will be reading the second in the series as well.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A thrilling read beginning a new series of suspenseful adventure. Having modern day problems of evil: greed, murder, bombings and more. LaHaye puts a professer of Biblical Archeaology into high risk to prove Bible truths by locating artifacts.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Indiana Jones for the Christian Evangelicals. Good premise, but somewhat simple.Could not finish it. I am sure it will appeal to some.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Not the best written books in the world, but fun. If you like Indiana Jones you might like these.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Not only is this book an archeolgical thriller, it shows us the prophesy being fullfilled right now in our lifetime. It is a fast paced book that keeps your heart racing and makes you want to dig into the scriptures for yourself to see exactly what it is that the Bible is saying. It is a great read that made me want to go out and instantly buy the sequels to this amazing book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was a pretty good book, even though it was strongly Christian-based. It made me want to read the sequels in the series, at least.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A bold new hero arises...He is a much needed hero for our times. A man of suprising courage. Michael Murphy is an expert on biblical prophecy and an archeologist who fearlessly hunts down ancient artifacts in the face of the greatest danger. Now Murphy has unlocked secrets from the distant past that hurtle him into a confrontation with the forces of the greatest evil. Murphy cannot fail - for the countdown has begun to the time of the end for all man kind.
