      First off, this book is so much better written and more interesting & has a stronger (seemingly not so stupid) heroine in comparison to many of the other Paranormal Mystery/romances I've read.

      Lily Ivory owns Aunt Cora's Closet, a vintage clothing resale shop. Her familiar, Oscar, may look like a pot-bellied pig, but in reality is a Gargoyle.

      While Lily is in attendance at an Art Deco Ball in Oakland, a member of a local coven is poisoned and trapped in the woman's restroom mirror. Two days before another member of the same coven was poisoned & died. Lily takes it upon herself to free the trapped woman and comes across magick at every turn. Some good, some bad.

      Meanwhile, Lily's shop and those of several other "practitioners" have been vandalized by a local hate group.

      There is some light romance along the way, disappearing men, and a tad bit of humor. There is also some mention of magickal & poisonous herbs.

      This book held my interest and was a light/fun read.

That is saying a lot because I have enjoyed each of them.Overall Thoughts: This is one of those cozy mystery series where the characters are done right. Lily doesn't fight/look down on/snub her nose at the law. Instead she works with them. The supporting cast all play very important roles in her life and while flawed they are lovable in their own right. Lily isn't perfect either and that makes her totally easy to relate too. Her internal dialogue while witchy is very identifiable :) The mystery in this one stumped me. I totally didn't figure it out and loved the twists/turns it took a long the way. I like the new characters that were introduced and hope we see more of them. I even like her personal life (though still messy) now. All in all just a darn good read!Audio Thoughts: Narrated By Xe Sands / Length: 8 hrs and 16 mins Xe does an excellent job with this series. Her male voices are strong and unique (something I sometimes have a hard time with) and her female voices are spot on. Even when I am reading these stories (because I often flip back/forth between audio/paper), I can hear her doing Lily. I love when a narration just sticks with you!       I'm a fan of this series, and I think this one might be the best one so far. The plot line is good with a great story and enough suspects to keep things muddled without overwhelming the reader with names to keep up with. I like the tie-in with Adrian, although I'd really like to see more of his backstory revealed; this is the fourth book, and almost nothing has been given away about one of the major secondary characters. I love that the love interest from the first couple of books was relegated to the background - I never warmed to his character - and I love where the author is taking Lily in this book - so many possibilities!

      My only complaint: Oscar isn't likeable - he acts like a child and anything that has been around as long as he supposedly has should be wiser and more mature than a spoiled-brat 4 year old. He has good moments, but the annoying ones are starting to outnumber them.

      Ms. Blackwell leaves this book off with a giant clue as to what the next book will bring and I'm really looking forward to book 5 - the next year will be a long one.

      In Blackwell’s paranormal mystery novel, Lily Ivory takes a night off from her vintage clothing store to attend a local Art Deco ball. Soon after arriving, Lily realizes that a young woman at the event has fallen under a mysterious illness that looks to be connected to a cursed corsage.Asked to assist in the investigation of a string of poisonings in the Bay Area witchcraft community, Lily is forced to delay solving the magical unexplained illness. Digging deep into the community, Lily soon suspects that a new acquaintance just might be dabbling in the dark arts.An excellent blend of mystery, paranormal and humor, making this a fantastic urban murder mystery and a great addition to the A Witchcraft Mystery series.

      This is the fourth book in Juliet Blackwell's A Witchcraft Mystery series, but it's the first one I've read. I'm usually hesitant to read a series out of order because I might feel lost, but the blurb on this book was too intriguing to pass up. Turns out the author did a great job getting a newbie like me up to speed.Lily Ivory is the owner of Aunt Cora's Closet, a vintage clothing shop in San Francisco. She's a solitary witch, due in part to being treated like an outcast growing up in a small Texas town. But now she's slowly coming out of her shell and cautiously mingling with the local magical community. I liked Lily. She was easy to connect with, had great smarts, skills and style, and seemed like the type of friend I'd love to hang out with. Even with her social awkwardness, she was a compassionate person always willing to lend a hand to someone in need.The mystery in this book is intriguing. It centers around a young mother who falls under a mysterious "Sleeping Beauty" curse. What happened to this woman may be connected to other poisonings in the witchcraft community. In addition, a group calling themselves the "Defenders of Morality" are targeting New Age and magical businesses in the area, vandalizing stores and leaving threats. Wanting to help out, Lily starts investigating. This was not an easy mystery to solve; it had many layers and players, and really kept me on my toes.IN A WITCH'S WARDROBE was a well-written, fast-paced cozy with a little romance and some funny moments too. I enjoyed the magical "shop talk." Ms. Blackwell seems to know her craft! The book ended with a cliffhanger of sorts, so I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next for Lily.Review copy courtesy of Obsidian Mystery.
