- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful short book, with a clever plot that could have been penned by Arthur Conan Doyle. Narration by Edward Raleigh was as usual magnificent, descriptions were kept concise but richly evocative, and there were several extremely witty passages (such as the smell of pickles during the inquest). Searched for the author and discovered it was the pen name of Leonora Wodehouse, the daughter of PG. Great pity she died young without the opportunity to pen more of these.
