- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is an excellent book if you want to become familiar with garden birds. I found there was a lot of overlap between the common birds of Britain and the common birds of the Eastern United States. The author is pleasant, I like that he narrates the book that he wrote. He includes lots of helpful tips for spotting the birds, and is very beginner friendly while not being condescending. I also enjoyed that he included clips of bird song throughout the book, because it helped me gain additional information on how to identify the birds. I would definitely recommend this read, it was also only about 5 hours or so to listen to, so very reasonable.
