- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I LOVE this book especially when i get to picture funny moments in my head
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Junie B. Jones went to the barber shop with her dad one day when her mother had to take her little brother to the doctor. When Junie B. goes with her dad she finds out that its a new place called a beauty shop. Junie B. wants to help the lady thats cutting her fathers hair. When she gets home she decided that she wants to become a "beauty shop guy." She practice on her slippers and her dog. She gets in trouble and her mother and father take away her scissors. Then, she finds another pair of scissors and cuts her own hair. This book brought back memories of when I put my hair as a child.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Summary:This book is about Junie B. going to the beauty shop with her dad and she ended up being the helper. She got herself into a bit of trouble and says she's going to be a beauty shop guy.My Thoughts:I think that it is a funny book. My favorite part was when she said her new name was Pinkie Gladys Gutzman.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is one of the funniest Junie B. books. I found myself laughing out loud. Junie B. at her finest! Hide the scissors!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5After a trip to the Beauty Shop, Junie is inspired to become a beautician, so she starts cutting the hair off things. First her fuzzy bunny slippers get a trim, then her bear gets a shampoo, and then her dog gets a major trim. Finally she has her biggest inspiration: she will cut her own hair! The result is a disaster that leads to a day in school hidden by a hat and a new haircut at the salon.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Growing up I always enjoyed reading about Junie B. Jones and her crazy new adventures. Looking about this one was my favorite book. I'm a cosmetologist and the way how Junie practices her beauty shop skills to become a "beauty shop guy" on her bunny slippers, her dog, and herself which makes disastrous results. Junie B. Jones quickly decides she wants to be a beautician after she admires her father get a haircut in a cool chair with fascinating tools. People ask children at this age what they want to be when they grow up and Junie B. response was to be a "beauty shop guy" which makes a good read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved reading Junie B. Jones when I was younger. These early chapter books are timeless. A good one to read individually.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the first Junie B. Jones book I have read, but it will not be the last. "Junie B. Jones is a Barber Shop Guy," is wonderful. This book had be laughing out loud at her antics. What I liked most about his book is the reliability. It was relatable in terms of Jones's speech, as well as her antics. In this particular book Jones practices being a barber on her dog, as well as herself. I remember when I was younger and I tried to cut my own hair for the first time. I felt just as Junie felt. The first time she looks in the mirror she thought, "That's how come I started to cry. 'Cause sprigs are shortie little sticklets. And they are not attractibe, I tell you." If I had to vocalize how I felt when I cut my own hair when I was six, this is exactly how I felt. Junie only kind of learned her lesson by the end of the book, which is exactly how someone her age would react. Junie does have horrible grammar, but that is part of the charm of this book. She talks and thinks just as a girl her age would. For example, it is completely believable that a child would say "After that, I twirled and twirled all over the kitchen. Only too bad for me...'Cause I accidently twirled into the refrigerator and the stove and the dishwasher." That sounds like a little girl to me. The man idea of this book is entertain the reader with the antics of one Junie B. Jones.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Junie B. Jones is a Hair Shop Guy is a very funny book. I have read one other Junie B. Jones book and I wanted to read another one to see if it was as entertaining and as the first one. Junie B. Jones is a great series that can help keep children interested in reading. Although there is not correct and proper English in this book, it is a great read for children. I enjoyed the plot of the story because they made this little girl very relatable in terms of how children actually think. For instance, when she heard that she need lots of practice, she thought that cutting hair a few times, made her a professional. And when you think about it a child might actually think like that. This book also teaches children that if they want something back that they need a lot of practice to get it. Overall, I loved this book and would recommend this book to a child that is trying to get involved with reading. A parent can read this to a child that is younger but 2nd or 3rd grader would be able to read this book on their own and be able to understand it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In my opinion “Junie B Jones is a Beauty Shop Guy” by Barbara Park is a fun book for young students to read. This book is relatable to young students because it shows the large imagination that children have. For example, June B. Jones quickly decides she wants to be a beautician after she admires her father get a haircut in a cool chair with fascinating tools. Children at this age often talk about what they want to be when they grow up because of experiences they have, which is why they will have fun reading this story. While this book is humorous, this book pushes young readers to think about asking for help in a time of need. Readers are able to see that Junie B. Jones should have asked her parents for a haircut instead of giving herself one. The main message is to always ask for help in times of need.
