    Delle Jacobs

    A native of Illinois, Delle Jacobs has been crafting stories since the tender age of four. She earned a degree in geography from the University of Oklahoma and worked as a cartographer until eventually becoming a social worker specializing in troubled teens and families. Everything changed, however, once she began writing books in 1993, and by 2004, literary success convinced her to quit her day job and focus full time on writing. She is a seven-time finalist for the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart Award, which she won an unprecedented three times, in addition to numerous other writing awards for her novels, including His Majesty, the Prince of Toads, Lady Wicked, Sins of the Heart, and Aphrodite’s Brew. Along the way she discovered a knack for designing e-book covers, which is a great way to get her creative juices flowing when her book characters are being particularly uncooperative. She lives today in southwest Washington State with her family.

      AUTHOR: This is my 1st time reading one of Delle Jacob’s books. I’m not impressed with “LOKI’s DAUGHTERS”. I found the content to be repetitive. If romance books provided (3) separate layers of “something that you can sink your teeth into”, this book only made it to the first layer. I never give up on an author and “fully” intend and look forward to reading another book by Delle. I want to be fair.SYNOPSIS - Many years ago the Celtic village was attacked by Vikings. A handful of women, children and one elderly man managed to hide themselves and survived. One young girl was hidden by a young Viking boy during the attack. Now as an adult, the Viking returns to seek his love, the young woman that he rescued so many years ago. PASSION SCALE: This book gets (2) ASTERICK because the level of being argumentative takes away from the passion found in the romantic parts of the book. Intimacy is few and far between. *NOT very descriptive and requires imagination ** WILL make you wiggle a little) *** WISH it was me; **** OH BODY, whew; *****EROTICA and well over the topFAVORITE PART: Feathers everywhere and how they got there.LEAST FAVORITE PART: Arienh’s totally over cooked and over done character page after page after page. YOU WILL LIKE THIS BOOK IF YOU LIKE: Historical romance, Vikings, CeltsThis book gets TWO Stars. Romance books = 2 central characters, 1 male, 1 female…...we have that; One or both of the main characters are in peril……..nope not per se; They work together to resolve the situation……nope; The perilous situation brings them together........nope not from the point of working together during a perilous situation but they do come together…..eventually.

      In some ways, it has the feel of a classic Greek play... or at least it reminded me of The Supplicants by Aeschylus in some ways. There's a village full of beautiful Celt women, struggling to survive the harsh lands. They've been all but destroyed by the Viking raiders, and have little love for that race. A boat of handsome Viking (strike that, Northerner) men land and set themselves up in the village, against the wishes of the women. The men want nothing to do with raiding, raping, and pillaging. Instead, they wish to settle down and take the village women as wives. The women start playing pranks on the men, the men who start fixing the village homes, plowing the fields, taking care of the sheep, etc... Things progress as the women fall in love, and the men work to earn their trust. Eventually, everything turns out perfectly and everyone is living happily ever after.This is the author's first novel, and it certainly reads like it. There are some plot holes left gaping at the end of the story.... the story is tied up for the main characters, but some of the other relationships are left a little fuzzy. There were too many coincidences and everything is just too perfect to make it a truly interesting story, although it was a quick, entertaining diversion.
