About this audiobook
When the lucky survivors of the world’s most infamous maritime disaster were plucked out of the freezing ocean by the passenger steamship Carpathia, they thought their problems were over.
But something is sleeping in the darkest recesses of their rescue ship. Something old. Something hungry.
“Carpathia is a dangerous collision of rich historical drama and epic horror. Beautifully written, completely disturbing…and highly recommended.” —Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of Assassin’s Code

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Do not waste your time!! This story is poorly written, predictable, and the nods to Stoker and Dracula are an insult to that classic. The hokey metaphors were equally as tough to read. Had high hopes for this one, but, alas that was not to be so.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5A friend lent this to me because he knows of my knowledge of the Titanic and because I read some of the Anita Blake series. While the concept seemed interesting, it wasn't realized here. The writing had it's moments, both good and bad, it did not capture me like I thought it would. Also, there were too many historical inaccuracies which were very easy to check on and were just ignored. I also thought the author would try to start from a historically accurate frame, move to the "suspension of belief" phase, and then return to a historically accurate ending. He did not do so. It wasn't the worst way to recuperate from strep and laryngitis.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I am super disappointed because I really wanted to like this book but it's just not good. The writing is clumsy, the setup is obvious, and it shows no signs of improving as of page 75. I throw up my hands in despair and quit.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5After abandoning one novel about the Titanic because the stretched out narrative was boring me silly, I mistakenly jumped off the sinking ship and into the North Atlantic. Carpathia has a clever premise - and the name of the ship which picked up the survivors of the Titanic also has vague connotations to Stoker's novel - but the writing is dreadful, on a schoolboy fan fiction/b-movie level of bad grammar and clumsy dialogue. If one more character 'stabbed their finger' instead of simply pointing, I would have had to destroy a library book. Anyway. The cleverest element of this novel is the cover and the tagline - 'The lucky ones went down with the Titanic'. Mr Forbeck should have printed an apology to the survivors of the unsinkable ship, not a dedication in their memory. And I should think Bram Stoker is turning in his grave, too.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I was really excited to read this based on the summary (vampires and the sinking of the Titanic!), but it wasn't at all like I expected. Though I loved the idea, I wasn't very impressed with the story which started out strong and slowly began losing its steam. There was also something about the dialogue between the characters; I found the conversations very awkward.
