      Eva möchte mit ihrem ersten Freund ein romantisches Wochenende verbringen, doch schon auf dem Weg dorthin läuft alles schief, sodass sie statt am Nachmittag erst abends, im Dunkeln ankommt, und alleine durch den Wald zu ihrer Unterkunft laufen muss. Ein ungutes Gefühl, weiß sie doch, dass vor kurzem hier ein Mädchen spurlos verschwunden ist. Auf dem Weg wird sie Zeugin, wie eine Gruppe Jugendlicher einen Jungen übel zusammenschlägt. Ihr Freund, Julian, verhält sich seltsam, als sie ihm vom diesem Erlebnis erzählt, und sie beginnt zu ahnen, dass wenn nicht er selbst, vielleicht seine Freunde etwas mit dem Vorfall zu tun haben. Als ein Erpresserbrief Eva erreicht, weiß sie mit Sicherheit, dass es nun irgendjemand auf sie abgesehen hat, und sie kann nicht mehr zwischen Freund und Feind unterscheiden.Manche der offenen Fragen im Buch kann der Leser schon vor der Protagonistin beantworten, dennoch zieht sich Spannung durch das ganze Buch und macht es zu einer guten Lektüre für ein paar Stunden. Für Thriller-Expertin eher nichts, für jemandem der neu im Genre ist aber sicher ein guter Einstieg.
