About this audiobook
Eden Palmer knows how to make it on her own. The forty-something single mother has worked hard to raise her beloved daughter—now twenty-seven and recently married. The offspring of a terrible event, Eden's daughter, Melissa, has long been the jewel of Eden's life, the one for whom she would sacrifice anything and everything. But sooner or later a woman must come into her own, and that's what Eden tries to do when she moves to Arundel, North Carolina, to take ownership of Farrington Manor, a beautiful old house filled with charm and memories that was willed to Eden by the person who cared for her when she needed it most. Torn between the desire to stay with her daughter and the need to build a separate life on her own, Eden opts for some distance and some much-needed perspective. But it's not long before she realizes that sometimes you have to go back before you can start over.
Arriving in Arundel—the South's prettiest small town—Eden quickly learns that looks can be deceiving when her move is met with delight in some quarters and jealousy in others. Pursued by two eligible bachelors—the rugged Jared McBride and Braddon Granville, local lawyer and town catch—Eden is flattered, and more than a little suspicious. Juggling the attentions of two men is hard enough, but soon Eden's bid to start over plunges her in the middle of a mystery that threatens not just her plans and reputation, but her very life. Can she use one man to save her from the other?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oh yeah, it's a keeper!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This is the worst recording of a book ever! Parts missing, ending completely cut off! Do not listen! It must have downloaded wrong! Totally wrong...
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Following the development of the main character and the unfolding of the plot. Quite exciting, but rather too much death
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Eden was written as if she were older than 45. Maybe that was intentional due to her life experience, but it felt wrong. The voice actress also struck me as too old and often sounded much like Blanche Devereaux from the Golden girls. Definitely not the best story by this author.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5You will not be able to put in down! Read the entire book in one day! Jude is fantastic...make sure to read all her books! "
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5When she was a teenager, Eden Palmer, was raped and got pregnant. Her family promptly threw her out of the house and let her make her own way. She was taken in as an employee by Mrs. Farrington until she had to leave in the middle of the night in fear for her daughter from Mrs. Farrington's son. Now, years later, Eden's daughter is married and pregant, and Eden finds that she has been left Farrington Manor in a will. She returns to the site and finds an FBI agent snooping through her house and beats the hell out of him. It only gets more interesting from there.I liked this book. I didn't think that it was anything REALLY special, but I did enjoy the read.
