About this audiobook
This gripping thriller from Thomas Caplan propels readers around the globe-from Hollywood to Rome, the Black Sea to the Mediterranean-and to the very brink of nuclear abyss.
The novel's charismatic hero, former covert operative Ty Hunter, has become, almost by accident, the number one film star in the world. When he is recruited on a clandestine mission to thwart the transfer of nuclear warheads into rogue hands, he must deploy every skill he has as an actor, soldier, and spy. Donning his fame as a disguise, Ty matches wits and muscle with the enigmatic billionaire Ian Santal and his nefarious protégé Philip Frost-two supremely sophisticated adversaries- even as he falls in love with the entrancing young woman closest to them both, the jewelry designer Isabella Cavill.
In prose that is both elegant and powerful, The Spy Who Jumped Off the Screen gives us a breakneck parable of good and evil-and a hero in the tradition of James Bond and Jason Bourne, who is sure to become an icon of the genre.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Big disappointmemnt. Sophmoric dialogue, no interesting characters.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Caplan delivers an exciting tale of a former soldier, turned movie star, turned spy that takes the reader on a journey to stop the transfer of nuclear weapons. This story has it all: action, adventure, intrigue, drama, and even a little romance that reminds the reader of James Bond and Jason Bourne. Ty Hunter is a greating leading character and gives these other iconic characters a run for their money. Ty finds himself asked by the President to investigate Ian Santel and Phillip Frost who he had briefly met which also puts him back in the path of the intriguing Isabella Cavill. These villains are also well developed and you find yourself following them on their journey as well, and Isabella proves to be a great leading lady and the perfect match for Ty. The story begins with a bang with a murder thats sets off a race against time to stop the transfer of these weapons before they fall into the wrong hands. Caplan does an amazing job of combining his adventurous tale with a bit of humor along the way that adds to the overall story. I haven't read a lot of straight spy thrillers before, and I found myself really enjoying this story. Overall this was a great read that I would definitely recommend if you enjoy a little humor, romance, and just plain fun with your action/adventure.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Spy Who Jumped Off the Screen isn't the kind of spy thriller I normally read. I'm much more John Le Carré than James Bond, but when it was offered to me for review by the publisher it was easy to accept. She had me at "former covert operative turned international movie star." How could I resist that?!Also appealing was the focus on loose nukes - something I don't think enough people take nearly as seriously as they should. There's a lot of nuclear material floating around out there and the possibilities are ugly and endless if you have any level of imagination. What a fun read this was - as improbable and sometimes silly as it should have been. Even though I'm not fond of reading about the privileged and their possessions (both material and human), I loved this book. It's well-written, doesn't take itself seriously, and keeps you turning the pages. Great entertainment. I couldn't stop thinking of the Harrison Ford and Denzel Washington action movies that I love to escape into. Someone should definitely make this into a movie. If you're looking for a consistently fun and entertaining read with just enough meat to keep you hooked, look no further.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was an entertaining book. Not an amazing thriller, but enjoyable none-the-less. It is hard to go wrong with spies, beautiful people, nuclear threats, and unending wealth - all are between the front and back cover of this book. If I was looking to perfect the book, well rounded characters and a better plot line would be at the top of my to-do list, however I don't believe this is a story that necessarily needs these things in order to attract the kind of crowd it is likely to get.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Move over Bond and Bourne, there's a new badass spy in town. Meet movie star Ty Hunter, who is actually an ex-special ops kind of guy. He tracks the nukes, fights the bag guys, loves the girl and generally has one heck of a time that all started with the Cannes Film Festival and a glamorous party on a yacht. This is fast paced thrill ride and has a definite cinematic quality to it that keeps the pages turning.
