      Good book it's about gangs and son of God jesus ?

      The Brotherhood wasn’t a very intense read due to the lapses in it. There were parts in the book where the action wasn’t as much as I had hope it would be. The beginning and end of the book was predictable. But what made the book different and interesting to read was the tragedy. It was twist that was both unique and unexpected. One would have expected it to be something that would merely rock the main character’s world but no, it is a twist that literally tears apart and removes everything from the character. The book also teaches us that life is not always smooth-sailing and things we work for our whole lives to achieve can be taken away from us in just a moment. Important life lessons about dealing with tragedy and how God never leaves us even though we sometimes go astray from Him are also dealt with in the book. Overall, The Brotherhood has a remarkably well plot that makes the book a pretty riveting read despite a few uninteresting parts. There will be two sequels to The Brotherhood and I am looking forward to reading them.

      I enjoyed this book. I understood the anger he first felt and the re-building of his relationship with God. It is hard to remember at times, but he is always with us, watching us, and protecting us.

      Boone Drake has everything. Beautiful wife that he adores, adorable son, the perfect job. But he's got a problem ~ he thinks he's the one responsible for his perfect life. When that perfect life spins wildly out of control and he's faced with a lonely future, where will he find his comfort? To the God who has been patiently waiting for him, or will he blame God for taking everything away?This was a difficult read for me, not because it's messy and ill-written. On the contrary, this is an extremely well written book. What else would someone expect from an author superstar like Mr. Jenkins? No, this novel is full of tragedy and heartbreak. (Two things I don't deal well with) Mr. Jenkins has the ability to navigate these complex emotions and make them believable and gut-wrenching.If you're a fan of police thrillers that have tragedy, this is probably the book for you. If you're more of the happy reader only (similar to me) then you may want to pass.Life lesson learned?"...sometimes God has to allow a person to come to the end of himself before he realizes his deep need."

      Boone Drake is a young probationary police officer in one of the most dangerous precincts in Chicago. He has a great partner, a wonderful wife, and a healthy, gorgeous baby boy named Josh. Within two years, as he begins to make a name for himself, he and his family buy a house with "just enough grass to mow" - their dream starter house. Life couldn't be better, and even though his pastor would like him to be more active in witnessing for God, HE would like to be more active in fighting the bad guys, the grown-up equivalent of the "schoolyard bullies" he protected other kids from in high school. Then tragedy strikes, and everything and everyone that he loves is lost or put in danger.This is my second Jerry Jenkins' title (you can read my review of The Last Operative here). This proves that sometimes even when you don't particular care for one novel, the next novel can grab you. I was immediately pulled into this story and felt such sympathy for the main character. It's a well-written, multi-dimensional look at the life of a police officer, the crimes and criminals he deals with, his co-workers, his family, and his search for faith after his faith has been shattered by a profound loss. A wonderful police thriller, the reader will gain much appreciation for the world our police officers live and work in.Not just a great story, but a lesson is here as well, one that should help all of us in faith. Although we can't always understand why God allows bad things to happen, He will never turn from us, even when we turn from Him.QUOTESOne moment he had been enjoying the life and marriage and family and career he had always dreamed of and striven for, and the next he had lost everything that mattered to him except his job. And even that, at least for now, held no appeal.These gangbangers were little more than grown-up versions of the bullies Boone had taken care of as a schoolkid. Oh, for the chance to do that again now, these days, when it really counted.
