About this audiobook
Charlie Joe Jackson, the most reluctant reader ever born, made it his mission in the first book to get through middle school without reading a single book from cover to cover. Now he's back, and trying desperately to get straight A's in order to avoid going to academic camp for the summer. In order to do this, he will have to betray his friend, lose the girl of his dreams, and end up acting in a school play about the inventor of paper towels. Charlie Joe's not exactly the "school play kind of guy", but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Tommy Greenwald
Tommy Greenwald has enjoyed reading all his life, which is why he's appalled that his kids Charlie, Joe and Jack, would prefer getting a dental check-up to checking out a book. After years of pleading, threatening, and bribing, Tommy finally decided the only way to get his kids to read was to write a book about how to get out of reading. The result was Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Not Reading. And they read it! (So they say.) The Executive Creative Director at SPOTCO, an entertainment advertising agency in New York City, Tommy lives in Connecticut with his wife, Cathy; his non-reading sons, Charlie, Joe and Jack; and his dogs, Moose and Coco.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Extra Credit's main character is Charlie Joe, a non reader who loves his dogs and video games. The story is in his middle school, his home, and another location, but it would be a spoiler to say. In the beginning, Charlie's schemes of reading none of the assigned books are finally found out, and if he dosn't get straight A's in the last quarter, he wil have to go to a summer camp all about reading. Charlie is determined to get straight A's, but regular schoolwork wont be enough. He decides to get all the extra credit he can get. Even with the extra credit, Charlie is not the most behaved student. Will he get sent to the summer camp? Read to find out. I loved this book because its one of the books in the Charlie Joe Jackson series, which i love. The book also gives many tips to getting extra credit, which some may be just for humor, but sometimes there more fun then the actual book. I reccomend this book to everyone who can read it, and well, i guess if some people are in need of extra credit, this would help.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5In this second novel Charlie Joe learns the joy/despair of extra credit work. Faced with a summer of reading camp, Charlie Joe embarks on a quest to get straight A's, using all his wit, time and his friends. What follows is pure Charlie Joe - not everything goes according to plan. Again this was so cleverly written, the characters are all fantastic and you fall in love with them a little more, and the story will keep you surprised all the way to the end.
