- Your immune system always knows the difference between your own cells and enemy invaders.
- The biggest threat to your arteries is cholesterol.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A lot of good information and it covers a lot, but I was put off a bit by the puns, jokes and current event references. It made this quite a bit harder to read. I suppose he's trying to reach a wide audience, but I would have preferred more depth and less wordplay.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Be the expert on YOUR bodyThis book contains so much awesome information that it is hard to read it all front to back, I found that I did a lot of skipping around, depending on what information I was looking for, or what caught my eye as interesting as well.Chapter 15 contains many FAQ's that are helpfulChapter 13 is all about The Owner's Manual Diet, not focusing on pounds lost, but rather making you feel better & help you live longer & slow the effects of aging. Complete with menu ideas & recipies to choose from.Chapter 6: Gut Feelings: Your Digestive SystemChapter 3: Do you Mind: Your Brain & Nervous SystemChapter 8: Sex Marks the Spot: Your Sexual OrgansThis book also touches on working out, strength training, etc.Throughout there are different tests that you can take, such as Action 5: Test Yourself - regarding hearing, Myth or Fact? are all over the book to test your knowledge a bit & factoids are there as well to teach you a bit too.Factoid: Excessive sweating, a condition called hyperhidosis, which affects 25% of Asians, comes from a malfunction of the sympathetic nerves that cause an inappropriate amount of sweat from your extremities.......Botox is know to help with this in 90% of people.Myth or Fact? Your eyelashes are mostly decorative. - They primarily protect your eyes against pollen & other items in the environment, but they also can sense when something is coming towards the eye, which gives you a microsecond to react - and close it. You grow new eyelashes every 5 weeks, and some medications actually make them grow.So needless to say, this book covers alot! Your Whole Body! It is a great reference to have on hand & I am really glad that I have this one to read & refer back to. I especially like the Q&A section at the back.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Pretty good reference for the non-medical student/professional. Easy read, well organized, helpful important notes at the end of each chapter.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The same basic idea as the Real Age books Roizen has written, i.e., what you can do to make your real age younger than your chronological age, presented in body systems – heart, lungs, bones, muscles, etc. Lots of good information, but so annoying that it was painful to read. Terminally cute. Many pop references. The drawings had elves in them, along with lame jokes that make it harder to see what is presented. I would give it 5 stars for information and 0 stars for being annoying, so I guess that makes it a 3 star rating.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The most down-to-earth, easy to follow health manual with simple guidelines to better health. Give it to someone you care about!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Heard this book when it was featured on 'Oprah.' Interesting. You do learn a lot from it though and take a lot in. Found myself referring to it all the time with relatives and their health problems.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is OK if you know very little about anatomy. I suppose it's intended to help patients be better informed about their own bodies-how they work, what all the organs are. Hopefully, if you've taken (and paid attention to) a highschool biology class, you remember this stuff. Not for anyone who knows anything about medicine, biology, physiology and anatomy. Or for women. The most annoying part about the book was (despite a small ammount of information about PMS), this book seemed to be entirely written for men, by men.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5this book, written by two doctors, offers invaluable advice on what you should do to keep yourself healthy. Not only the things you want to do personally--diet, exercise, etc., but how to choose insurance plans, what to look for in doctors, hospitals, etc. This is an exceptional book.
