      Just like the last few books. This book was very captivating and I couldn't wait to hear what came around the next corner. Starting the next book now can't wait to see where that will take me.

      Fun further adventures of Septimus Heap. Silas Heap the father of the Heap family accidentally releases the spirit of the evil Queen Etheldredda. Septimus is sent back in time. His adopted sister Jenna, his brother Nicko and a young trader named Snorri Snorrelssn along with her cat follow to bring him back. Can they return to their own time and stop Etheldredda's plans to take over?

      Septimus gets pulled back in time and this novel centers around efforts to bring him back to his own time. There is also the awful Queen Etheldredda who is determined to come back from the dead and displace Jenna. How the two time plots are resolved make for a fun adventure.

      The more I read this series the more I fall in love with it. Physik is full of adventure and has a little bit of something for everyone. Full of dragons, time travel and ghosts you can't go wrong.

      I must say, that this book took me quite a bit to get "into" it. I really do not like people (characters) who posses intelligence and know better but do stupid things and get in BIG Trouble anyways..... Sigh....

      But anyways...... The ghost of the EVIL Queen Etheldredda (where do these people get these names?) and her deadly creature Aie-Aie have been locked up in the sealed (I mean, serioulsy, this was done purposely) attic room for centuries...only to be released by the doddering fool Wizard Silas Heap. Silas's son, Magik Apprentice Septimus and his step-sister Princess Jenna are duped by her Evilness in a bid to give herself everlasting life, retake the kingdom and impose a rule of terror and wickedness. Septimus is kidnapped by Q.E.'s ghostly son Master Wizard Marcellus Pye and and held prisoner in time while Jenna must travel back with the aid of the dragon SpitFyre in order to rescue Septimus.

      Once I got past the stoopidity of Silas, the naivety of Jenna and Septimus...and into the action...I found it to be an interesting book and I finished it easily. I understand that this is a very popular children's series...rates up there next to Harry Potter in the genre of Magik...

      Glad I’ve picked up this series again, had been looking forward to meet the Heaps again. It didn’t go all that fast though… Got to meet Snorri Snorrelssen and her cat Ullr. What is there not to like about a Northern Traders girl who likes dark rye bread and pickled herring for breakfast?!? :D No time to ponder about these things! In the meanwhile Silas and Gringe are still crazy Counter feet. Silas’ addiction to the game makes him forget more important things, thinks he’s found THE perfect place to keep his Counters and by unsealing the attic, he ‘accidentally’ releases the spirit of Queen Etheldredda and her Aie-Aie. And that’s how the ball started to roll…Although this 3rd book in the series started off a little weird and I’m still not sure what to think of Jillie Djinn (perhaps we find that out in Queste?), time travelling took it all to a totally different level! Going back 500 years is quite something, don’t you think!?For those who keep saying the plot twists or simply everything is (too) predictable… you won’t see this one coming!! This being said : “I’m going fishing!” ;)

      The fact that Physik is part of the seven book series by Angie Sage really upsets me. Physik is more of a side story from the Septimus Heap universe, and I felt it didn't impact the story even if a little. Despite this fact, Physik was an amazing book that drew me in after the first pages. Actually, I found Physik to have a better and more entertaining story than its two predecessors, Magyk and Flyte. Angie Sage's simple writing style makes this book easy to read and I found it hard to put down. It's worth a read, but any reader can choose to skip it and read Queste because I felt that it did not impact the Septimus Heap universe at all.

      The time travel adds interest to what would otherwise be a tiresome story, and the new character -- Marcellus Pye and, especially, Snorri -- and new villain -- Queen Etheldredda -- add some life to a story that I found to be faltering in Book 2. Snorri and Ullr were my favorite elements; I was disappointed that they played a relatively minor role in later books.

      This book was a good sequel to the other books. You don't hear from Marcia as much as the book focuses more on the children. The new characters introduced fit into the story and you want to know how they will get out of this adventure.

      The adventures of Septimus Heap and his friends continue in the third book of this series. Physik includes a mysterious sickness, time travel, an alchemist, a multitude of ghosts, and some new friends for Septimus and his family. I am really enjoying this fantastical series and finding Septimus's adventures to be both entertaining and good reading. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys young adult fantasy.

      When Silas Heap nSeals he spirit of Queen Queen Etheldredda, and begins a horrible Sicknesse that makes everyone mortally sick, and no one can find an antidote. Magyk cannot help it, only the very lost are of Physik, which is more or less like science. And now Septimus Heap is sent back in time 500 years ago through a time portal and becomes the apprentice of a great Physician named Marcellus Pye, who wrote the book I, Marcellus. Now Septimus must find a way back to cure the Sicknesse before everyone perishes.

      When Silas Heap finds a counterfeet colony and decides to hide it in a Sealed room in the castle, he inadvertently lets out the ghost of Queen Etheldredda and her pet. The pet lets loose a Sicknesse and Queen Etheldredda schemes to send Septimus Heap back 500 years into the past.The third book in the Septimus Heap series continues with the positive and negatives that I have noticed in my reread of the series. The story has an inventive world and believable characters. I like seeing their development and what troubles they will overcome next. I still find the books to be overly long, and really don't understand the need to include in a sort-of appendix with the rest of the story (or in this case, often the backstory) of every minor character, filling in cracks that were already sufficiently handled in the body of the story.

      Love the characters and the humour. Occassionally the use of really modern words/concepts jars (doeppleganger, the South Seas)... but I'm happy to overlook this and be swept up in the story... which is why, after all, I read things like this.

      I have to say that I found this one a little weaker than the previous too. The queen Etheldredda as a baddie was certainly evil and convincing enough. But we just sort of dropped Simon and Dom Daniel. What are they up to? And the ending bothered me a little too. We don't get a full resolution of what's up with Septimus. We get hints that he has changed because of his ordeal, but we don't really know how or even hear him reflect much on his experience. A little dissatisfying.Still, I will definitely be looking forward to the next one!

      Physik is not as interesting as the first 2 books in the Septimus Heap series. Much of the story is spent telling of the experiences of Septimus's family and friends as they attempt to piece together what has happened to him, finding and rescuing him. We do not know much of Septimus's experience during his months spent lost in the Past. Though, the book is titled Physik and it is this knowledge which Septimus gains during his time with Marcellus and the means which he saves those ill from the Sicknesse, we actually do not read much about it. We are merely told that Septimus learns this knowledge from Marcellus and how he saves the inhabitants of the Castle at the end. Though this is set in a Magykal world, as Septimus says Physik is different from Magyk. One wonders how is it that Septimus becomes such a great Physician in a matter of months. And another thing, it seems rather out of character that Septimus who has proven himself to be rather loyal in the past does not seem too grief-stricken that his closest brother, Nicko is trapped in the past. Overall, not my favourite book in the series but a necessary read if we are to continue with the story.

      My thoughts:Positives: * Lots of adventure that keeps you moving from beginning to end * Alchemy, time travel, magic, but always in a believable way. * The enemy of the main character is reminiscent of the Queen of Hearts (one of my favorite villains) * Septimus Heap is likable, intelligent, and generally a very well described character. I always care about what happens to him and his family members * Marcellus Pye is interesting and makes me think about what eternal life might end up being like. * There are moments when this book had me laughing out loud and being embarrassed by the odd stares I got from doing so.Negatives: * You have to read the first two in order to understand this book. * There is mention of Simon, but he does not really have a part in the book. I wonder why they keep mentioning him if they won't let the reader know what happened to him. * There is little worth to the amount of things in this novel. I'm not sure what is considered wealthy and what is not. * I wish there was more of a description of Queen Etheldredda other than she always looked upset. I'm sure that there could have been some metaphors and similes that could have brought her into the forefront better.

      Part three in the Sepimus Heap series. Another lovely tongue-in-cheek fantasy story featuring the young hero Septimus and his gang of friends and relations. Really enjoyable and easy to read, although as this is really a childrens book I guess that is to be expected. My only issue with this is the author doesn't bother in the slightest to re-introduce any of the characters to the reader or give any real reminders about what has happened previously. This meant I spent the first hundred or so pages desperately trying to remember who half the characters where as it was well over a year since I read the previous in the series, Flyte. I look forward to the next book, Queste, with interest - although I will definitely re-read the last hundred pages of this one before I start it!!

      This is an excellent series, and this book keeps up the momentum. An ancient nasty ghost of a former queen haunts the castle, and a strange pestilence afflicts the population. Septimus Heap begins his study of the art of Physik in an attempt to find a cure. But, of course, more is going on than he bargains for and before long he is swept off into an adventure that wil take the combined resources of himself and his friends to resolve.The book has tension and poignancy, all nicely set off with the off-beat comic relief of the funny little world of Angie Sage. A delightful read.

      As with the first two, Physik is full of adventure for Septimus, Jenna and the rest of the characters. In this outing, Silas Heap unwittingly releases a nasty spirit when he unseals a room. The spirit of the long dead queen causes many problems culminating with Septimus travelling back through time. Great story, I'm already on to the next one.

Speitmus Heap gets sucked into a time or mirror and timetravels back to 500years ago.How would Jenna and her friends help to get Septimus out of that place?

      Angie Sage continues to amaze in her third book of her Septimus Heap series. A nice read of Septimus and Jens struggles with being an apprentice and a princess. A good short novel, that does not dissapoint from the other books.

      An overly long continuation of the adventures of Septimus Heap, a wizard's apprentice and seventh son of a seventh son. In this installment a Sicknesse has inflicted many of the residents of Septimus's town and no one can find a cure. Septimus is tricked into going back in time by the ghost of an evil queen and he becomes an apprentice to a Physician 500 years in the past. Jenna, Nicko, and a Northern trader named Snorri must go back and try to get Septimus back to the right time.
