About this audiobook

Your best friend

Lindsay Boxer is pregnant at last! But her work doesn't slow for a second. When millionaire Chaz Smith is mercilessly gunned down, she discovers that the murder weapon is linked to the deaths of four of San Francisco's most untouchable criminals. And it was taken from her own department's evidence locker. Anyone could be the killer--even her closest friends.

Or a vicious killer?

Lindsay is called next to the most bizarre crime scene she's ever seen: two bodiless heads elaborately displayed in the garden of a world-famous actor. Another head is unearthed in the garden, and Lindsay realizes that the ground could hide hundreds of victims.

You won't know until the 11th hour

A reporter launches a series of vicious articles about the cases and Lindsay's personal life is laid bare. But this time she has no one to turn to--especially not Joe. 11TH HOUR is the most shocking, most emotional, and most thrilling Women's Murder Club novel ever.

Another great one to this series, Lindsey and Joe hit a rough patch in this one and they are investigating another officer for going rogue killing people. Must read!

Several plots intertwined with Lindsey Boxer, pregnant police detective, at the center of the story. Good entertainment.

Another excellent book in the Women's Murder Club series. This time there are severed heads in the garden of a celebrity with no clues for the police to follow. Also, a vigilante killer is on the loose which brings Lindsay's old friend and chief Jacobi under suspicion. I really liked the unexpected result of the 'severed heads' case. With problems in Lindsay's personal life this book keeps the attention from start to finish and is, as always, easy reading

Another mostly sub-par Women's Murder Club series book by Patterson and Paetro. And I'm not sure which was the most annoying part, that none, absolutely none of the twists surprised me, that there were too many hanging plot chads, or that Lindsey seemed to me to be crying through the entire book. This novel was about a serial killer. 2 actually. Again. In addition to two skulls being found in a famous person's compound, there's the story line of a vigilante who's taking out drug dealers and Lindsey and her partner Rich get to work both. (Shouldn't there be more than two detectives in San Francisco?)It was an okay novel, but with all the women's lives in the Women's Murder Club so connected the book just seemed to be narrow and one dimensional. Also, as I said above Lindsey seemed to be crying through the entire book. A little bit of emotion in a main character man or woman, is good, but this is supposed to be a genre mystery read, and in most places it pretty much read more like a romance or touchy feely piece of 'literature'.Anyway, not a horrible plot, but a really predictable book that takes itself too seriously. Still, I doubt if they'll stop writing these mysteries, so, we'll see if 12 is better than 11.

This mystery involved two murder/mysteries including buried skulls as well as the murder of drug dealers. It was way too predictable and characters were ho-hum at best. It didn't include any twists or unexpected turns that kept me on the edge of my seat and anxiously awaiting what comes next like I would expect in a book of this genre.

I love James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series -- and this one is not a disappointment! Lyndsay is pregnant - and still chasing murderers! Great!

It was a fair book. There are two murder mysteries running at the same time and sometimes, it's hard to keep them separate. The lives of the women are usually more entwined and not as one dimensional as in this book. The solutions to the cases did not climax at the same time, leaving one with the rim fire feeling. And, Lindsay seems overemotional -- pissed off at her hubby for about half the book. Communicate and move on. Other characters were not as vibrant because space was devoted to this. The San Francisco scenes, as always, were fun, but not as exciting as the title would suggest.

Overall, this one was a disappointment. It's hard to say if it was because of the new narrator or just because I haven't read a Women's Murder Club book in over a year (since the last one came out), but I have to say that it just didn't "feel" like the rest of them. The crimes this time around were odd to the point of what-the-heckery, and some of the characters--especially Lindsay--just seemed way off. Honestly, she deserves a great big smack upside the head for what she puts her husband Joe and her former partner and boss Warren through. Especially Joe--c'mon, taking the word of someone she doesn't know and never met over the man she supposedly loves??? Not even giving him five minutes to give his side of the story before making a snap decision? It made absolutely no sense that she went so over the top in that situation. Pregnancy doesn't affect ALL your brain cells, honest it doesn't. Her "oh, poor me, pregnant and alone" bit afterwards really took the cake. Cindy's behavior toward her fiance Rich was a big letdown as well, and it's a shame that it took something major to make her finally realize it. At least Claire and Yuki were more or less themselves, though they didn't have huge roles in the story, so maybe that's why. I hate to give up on a series I've enjoyed, but if they continue in this vein I don't think I will be reading many more.

This was not the best Patterson I have read, I have to admit. I felt the story was lacking substance and the plot was not strong. Too much emphasis on the relationships between Lindsay and Joe and not much with The Woman's Murder Club and the actual crimes.

I always look forward to the next book in this series because I love these women. But I was disappointed by so much in this one. Really disappointed in Lindsey's reaction to Joe; we know she's better than that. Are we supposed to chalk it up to hormones? Two cases that were presented simultaneously but neither of them got the development they deserved. And then sleazy reporter...that just seemed thrown in to me. I give it 3 stars for the ongoing development of some of my favorite people, but would not recommend it on its own.

I have to admit that I am hooked on the Murder Club series. Perhaps because the novels are easily consumable. I am also a sucker for the happy endings after all the chaos dies down. The writing is not particularly moving, but the stories are packed with drama and action. I wonder how Lindsey Boxer will change after the baby is born? I guess I will have to read the next one in the series.

Most of James Patterson"s books are quick reads due to the short chapters and large print. This book was no exception. The 11th book in the Women's Murder Club series continues to tell the story of Lindsey Boxer's married life ups & downs (now expecting) while she and the other 3 members of the club try to solve 2 murder cases. One of which is quite bizzare which makes for a good read. I heard that this was supposed to be the last in the series but, I don't think so as Lindsey is still expecting at the end of the book.

Eh. I'm in two minds on this book. On the one, I read it in about two hours and it was the perfect beach fluff. On the other, it felt rushed and I hated the use of BFF/and "hearts" as a verb. Lindsay Boxer is a 35+ year old woman, not 13. There's no doubt there's a bond between she and the WMC, but that's not how she'd think. I also think the mending between she and Jacobi and she and Joe was too rushed. Joe's use of "blondie" reminded me how odd it was to see Angie Harmon as Lindsay in the show - but at the same time, she fits. Wonder what Patterson & Paetro have against Lindsay being happy. Two interesting cases in this book - Ellsworth Compound and Revenge. I actually preferred Revenge because there was more depth to that whereas the Ellsworth Compound was... there for the sake of headless shock. It was all wrapped up too neatly & too quickly. But a good beach read.

***WARNING*** There are some spoilers in here for those of you who are not caught up on this series or don't want the who-dunits spoiled.I enjoyed this installment of the Women's Murder Club series more than the past couple, though there was a few things I had issues with, such as Lindsay's pregnancy. It wasn't mentioned much in the book and I wasn't even sure how pregnant she was, plus the reader never got to see the reactions of the rest of the girls. I would have loved to have known how they reacted. Plus, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't allow a pregnant female officer to put herself into harms way the way Lindsay had. Knowing that a very dangerous suspect was out and shooting at someone, it would be a HUGE liability if a pregnant officer was hurt on the job like that. I work with officers, so I kind of has an issue with this. The heads case was different and more fun than most of the other cases I have read during the latest of the books. The vigilante officer case was ok, but I almost wanted to see someone we had met in the book be the vigilante, but not Jacobi of course since I love his relationship with Lindsay too much, but someone not as huge of a character that we have met before. Unforunately, I have become rather skilled at predicting what is going to happen in the books and I would really like to see more surprises. I like things coming out of left field or just some kind of wow twist, but I don't have that here, unlike in book 3 where Jill was murdered. My heart absolutely ached when that happened. Don't get me wrong, I don't want anymore of the girls to die, but just SOMETHING surprising would be great. All in all, it's better than the last few have been and I would recommend it to those who like Patterson's books or books like them

SummarySgt. Lindsey Boxer of the San Francisco Police Dept. is happily married to Joe (former FBI agent) and has a baby on the way while working on two high profile cases at the same time. Severed heads are found in the backyard of a famous womanizing Hollywood star, and a serial killer called Revenge is on the loose, killing drug dealers one by one, leaving no threads of evidence to his identity. Revenge's professionalism and skill lead the SFPD to believe he is one of their own, a policeman gone rogue, so they must procede with caution in order to find the killer before he strikes again without accusing an innocent officer. Lindsey is called in to lead the investigation of Revenge but also wants to find the identities of the murdered young women as well as the murderer. She also has to sidestep an obnoxious reporter who is determined to get the scoop, even if he has to make it up. As always, Lindsey works with her friends Yuki, Claire and Cindy in order to find out the truth. What I LikedLindsey and Joe - thank goodness these two are finally together and finally happy. Every once in a while it's nice for things to work out.The suspense - I didn't figure this one out until close to the end...The Women's Murder Club mysteries had become pretty formulaic, and in all honesty, this one follows the basic outline that is Patterson...but I stayed interested and kept wondering what was around the corner. I found myself having to pay a little closer attention as well...the details in this one were much better than the last few in this series.About mid-way through, Patterson jerked the rug out from under me...of course I can't tell you what happened. But, I can tell you that the family and I were sitting around the pool and I gasped outloud and spooked everybody :p I was so distraught that I had to peek at the ending to make sure all would be well...(don't tell my firstborn; she gets sooo angry when I do that).I love it that Lindsey's pregnant...and working. Nobody around her questions her abilities bc she's going to be a mom. Even when she herself knows her emotions are in overdrive, Lindsey is the only one who mentions it. Of course, there are the normal recommendations to take it easy, but it's so nice to have a character for whom pregnancy is not seen as a crutch, illness or disability.Claire - she doesn't play a major role in this plotline but she is one the sidelines working all the science. There's a little more science this time...almost "Bones"ish. Claire also is a mother of a very young child and her brain is still intact. She can even talk about her kids and still do her job better than most. What I Didn't LikeCindy - I'm sorry; I just cannot like this character. She is obnoxious, untrustworthy, and a pest. She doesn't care about the rules...as long as she gets what she wants. She's willing to put other people's jobs on the line in order to get the scoop...even the jobs of those she says she loves. I think Rich deserves much better...as long as it's not Lindsey.Overall RecommendationPatterson returns to the early suspense of the Women's Murder Club with this one so previous followers (whoever's left after the 10th Anniversary fiasco) should give this one a go...it's worth it. It's a fast read...I read it in less than 24 hours.

I'm not sure I ever gave a Women's Murder Club book less than a 4 star rating and here we are with a 3. I'm not sure why. I wasn't a bad book but I only "liked" it.Of course I have a hard time with reviewing these books because there is so much going on in one book and this one is no different. Boxer is pregnant but it doesn't stop her from taking 2 cases and dealing with rumors that a scummy reporter keeps reporting. One case we have an open ended mystery (and a lot of heads) without a clue in sight that might never be solved and another that involves a vigilante who is killing drug dealers on the street. Will Boxer and Conklin solve the cases? Maybe with the help of 3 other women... maybe.

Is it Patterson or Paetro? Dislike dual authorship when it comes to a big name like Patterson. Did he just sign off on the manuscript or what? Extremely quick read and was fun as all the rest were. The characters seemed to lack substance these days though

The women’s murder club is a group of friends with a common interest in solving crimes, different reasons to solve them, and interconnected romances. The romance is nicely lowkey in this thriller by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro. The mysteries are well-plotted, and the characters are fun, pleasingly plausible, earnest and humanly flawed. The blend of everyday life and troubles (including pregnancy) with gruesome discoveries and complex suspicions keeps the pages turning, and the book’s a fast read. It’s difficult to guess what will happen next, frustrating to follow the wrong leads, and even somewhat thought-provoking to learn the denouements. As one of the characters asks early on, how well do we know anyone. Can feelings be trusted? Can suspicions? Can unsupported certainties? The eleventh hour is resolved at the eleventh hour of this novel, with red herrings nicely squared away and relationships honored. It’s a satisfying tale, and I will probably read more from the series some day.Disclosure: It was in a box of my aunt’s belongings, so I had to read it.

Lindsay Boxer isn't letting pregnancy slow her down while she investigates two different sets of murders. A millionaire with ties to drugs has been gunned down in the washroom during a school pagent with a gun that has been stolen from police evidence lockup. Could it be a vigilante cop?Meanwhile two heads have been found in a bizarre scene and Lindsay must find the bodies along with the murderer. 11th book in the Women's Murder Club series, and while it was a good read it certainly wasn't the best of them all.

Another book in the Women's Murder Club series. I have no idea how Patterson manages to turn out so many books so quickly. My son loves his Middle School series and the I Funny series. Now there is a Robots book (series?) and the Homework Diaries. Not to mention all the adult book series he writes.

Patterson is nothing if not reliable. His books are quick reads and keep me guessing as to who is the true bad guy. Lindsay, Claire, Yuki and Cindy are likable characters and all different. Nothing new or life changing here, but the books are fun.

    Recommended to:
    Patterson fans, crime thriller enthusiasts.

I did not find this book as interesting as the other books in the Woman's Murder Club. The story centers on women, and the men seem to be shadowy figures. A very pregnant Lindsay Boxer rushes to find a gruesome killer that beheads the victims, and buries the heads in a movie star's lawn. Plus Lindsay is also searching for a rogue policeman that is handling justice his own way by killing drug lords. Of course, Lindsay in her unbalanced hormonal world, believes her husband is seeing an old flame. Many of the scenes are hilarious, as Patterson utilizes comedy to balance the tragedy of the situation.
